All Red Cross chapters are evaluated on 46 standards that measure activities and achievements levels in six different categories, including: governance, financial strength and stability, service delivery, human resources, business practices and organizational unity/corporate citizenship.

"The achievements of our Red Cross chapter reflect the combined efforts, dedication and support of our chapter staff, our outstanding volunteers, our generous donors and a very supportive community, including individuals, corporations and organizations and local foundations," Peppel said.

He said he appreciates members of the board, Weaver, and former Board Chair Jill DeBatty.

The Kosciusko County Community Foundation provided a grant to cover the travel expenses for the national convention.
