Local Couple Featured in eHarmony Commercial

Taylor Pierce, Mishawaka, posted her profile on eHarmony for one day.
That was long enough for Matt Landis, Warsaw, to reach out to her.
After several dates and feeling like they finally found the one, they were engaged two years later and Landis always promised they would have their own eHarmony commercial one day. That promise quickly became a reality.
Pierce said she was on Twitter and saw a post that eHarmony was searching for couples to film a new commercial. She submitted their information, and after several questionnaires and phone conferences, they were flown to Los Angeles for a four-day shoot.
“It was so cool,” she said. “We didn’t know what to anticipate.”
They were both surprised at how down-to-earth and friendly  eHarmony CEO Neil Warren was. Pierce said they had lunch at restaurants notorious for celebrity sightings, and one day they had lunch next to Jeff Goldblum. She also was excited to work with the stylist from “Big Bang Theory.”
Landis said they also worked with a different director because Fred Durst, frontman for Limp Bizkit, usually directs the commercials but he was out of the country with his band.
Pierce said everyone on set made them feel comfortable, and she and Landis were one of four couples there for the shoot. They also were the only couple not from California.
“The thing that was so neat, was that I never thought they were real couples on the commercials,” Pierce said.
She said every couple in previous commercials were real people in real relationships. She said not only was the entire eHarmony team incredibly welcoming, but the best thing about this site is that it is for people who are ready to settle down for something long term. Landis said there are 400 marriages daily from couples who met through eHarmony.
“You’re ready for a future and to settle down and find a long-term partner,” she said. “We were both looking for something like that.”
The couple have set a wedding date for Sept. 26, which also will be Pierce’s parent’s wedding anniversary. She said when the executives learned this information, they wanted to incorporate a photo of her parents in their segment as well.
They said they do not have an official air date for their commercial yet, but it could be anywhere from a month after it was filmed to a year later. Once they find out the air date, the couple plans to have a viewing party. After filming their commercial, Pierce said their running joke now is that they will eventually become movie stars.
“It’s just been crazy,” Pierce said. “I’m ready for everything to calm back down.”[[In-content Ad]]
