Winona Plans Chocolate March

WINONA LAKE - The Village At Winona will hold a "Chocolate March" March 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Village at Winona will offer a free chocolate to store shoppers. Samples will include dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate, truffles, creams, chocolate covered nuts and hot cocoa with marshmallows.

The Billy Sunday Visitor's Center will feature a display where visitors will see a "Mystery Chocolate Artifact" from the Sunday Home and hear the tale of its history. The museum also will host free showings of the 1971 classic "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory".

Oakwood Cemetery Decoration Removal

Oakwood Cemetery staff request all ground decorations be removed by April 1 for spring cleanup. Cemetery employees will remove the decorations after the April 1 deadline. Summer decorations may be placed on headstones or foundations May 1. For more information, call the cemetery at 574-372-9553.

American Heart Association Offers CPR Class

NORTH WEBSTER - The American Heart Association will offer a basic CPR and first aid certifcation claass at the North Webster Community Building March 22.

This class will teach the student how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants. It also will teach students how to recognize and treat heart attacks, strokes, bleeding, diabetic emergencies, seizures, choking, allergic reactions and enviormental emergencies.

Residents Entitled To Free Bell Library Card

MENTONE - All Harrison Township and Mentone residents are reminded that they are entitled to a free Bell Memorial Public Library card.

2008 marks the 90th year that the library has been in service.

Bell Memorial Public Library cards are also valid at Rochester, Akron and other Indiana libraries.

SILVER LAKE - The Silver Lake Community Choir will begin practice for their summer program April 3 at 7:30 p.m. They will meet at South Pleasant United Methodist Church, three miles south of Silver Lake, located at the intersection of Ind. 15 and CR 1400N.

The choir will sing at Silver Lake Days, Akron's Spark in the Park and other local churches and nursing homes.
