Lloyd D. Minnix, 75, of 1235 S. CR 550W, Warsaw, died at 12:38 p.m. Dec. 12, 2008, in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Jackson, Ky., to Weldon and Edith Burton Minnix. On May 4, 1991, he married Pansy Conder Ray, who survives.

He was a tool and die maker at Whitley Products. After retirement he was a transportation escort for many companies. He served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 258, Pierceton.

Also surviving are a son, David Minnix, Pierceton; seven daughters: Barbara Farmer, Aneala Bays and Pam (and spouse Bruce) Messmore, all of Pierceton; Joyce (and spouse Arlie) Rowe, Silver Lake; Linda (and spouse Craig) Slone, Sidney; Inna (and spouse Paul) Thiry, Denver; and Jan (and spouse Kip) Madsen, Warsaw; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bo (and spouse Portia) Minnix, Van Buren, and Lowell (and spouse Audrey) Minnix and Ralph (and spouse Pam) Minnix, all of Pierceton; and four sisters: Faye (and spouse Ed) Owens and Carol (and spouse Barry) Sapp, all of Claypool; Freda (and spouse Kenny) Boggs, South Whitley; and Brenda Norris, Boswell, Okla. He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, a son, a granddaughter and a great-grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with military honors by members of Pierceton American Legion Post 258.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
