'Little Women' March Onto Wawasee Stage

SYRACUSE - Wawasee Theatre Department announced the musical this spring is "Little Women".

Show dates and time are March 25-27 at 7 p.m.

The show is an adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott classic that was on Broadway about five years ago. The story of the March sisters and their friends and neighbors stays true to the story everyone knows and loves - with the addition of some music and lyrics.

Directed by Cyndi Thornburg, the actors and actresses are busy learning lines, staging and characterization while Deb Sweazy works with them to build a huge set.

Music director Kara Judy, a Wawasee High School alum, has her hands full with the vocal complexities of the music for this show.

Tickets are on sale. Contact the main office at WHS or e-mail orders to [email protected] Adult tickets are $8 and children through grade 12 will be $5. All seating is reserved for this show, so get your tickets ordered early.

The students also are having a canned food drive in conjunction with the musical. There will be a collection point for nonperishable foods for donation.[[In-content Ad]]The cast of "Little Women" includes Bethany Huffman as Jo March; Susie Hershberger as Marmee; Emily Harden as Beth March; Alexis Linnemeier as Meg March; Miranda Moss as Amy March; Leah Shock as Aunt March; Ian Brumbaugh as Laurie; Nicholas Frecker as Professor Bhaer; Jake Doll as John Brooke; Ian Donahoe as Mr. Laurence; Jennifer Thystrup as Mrs. Kirk; Desi List as Helga.

Characters in Jo's story include Manuel Cabarellero as Braxton; Krista Zurcher as Clarissa; Nate Smith as Rodriguo 1; and Meredith Bauer as Rodriguo 2.

Knights, hags, trolls and other include Drew Beer, Cynthia Valdizon, Ashley Lyon, Mikala Perzanowski, Angel Reyes, Sam McQuade, Jaclyn Parzygnot, Esther Eisenhour and Zach Young.

Student directors are Sarah Schaefer, Jennifer Thystrup and Sophia Katsaropolous.
