She was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Watertown, N.Y., to Matthew and Florence Cassell. On July 26, 1958, in Watertown, N.Y., she married Hartmuth A. “Hodd” Arlic, who survives in Syracuse.
She graduated from high school in New York. She was a homemaker and a bus driver at Kaleva Norman Dickson Schools for 23 years. She moved to Syracuse in October 2105 from Wellston, Mich., where she had lived for 55 years. She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, Irons, Mich., where she served on the Alter Society and attended the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ligonier.
Also surviving are one son, Allen Frederick Stark, Bronson, Mich.; three stepdaughters, Ame (and spouse Bernie) Hale, Burr Oak, Mich., Andrea (and spouse David) Hile and Angela (and spouse Wayne) Trusty, all of Syracuse; one grandson; 11 stepgrandchildren; 19 step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Sharon Stark; step grandson, Braden Hale; one sister, Betty Otis; and two brothers, Harold and John Cassell.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ligonier, with Fr. Wilson Corzo of the church officiating. Burial will take place at the Wellston Cemetery in Wellston, Mich., at a later date.
Calling is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ligonier.
