Lawshe Comments

Editor, Times-Union:
I am appalled at the statements and the attitude of Warsaw City Councilman Dewey Lawshe regarding Police Chief Craig Allebach as reported in the Times-Union. Warsaw is blessed with one of the finest police departments anywhere. We have more than a 90 percent solve rate on serious crimes. The police department on a regular basis over many years spends under its budgets and returns money to the treasury. We have a Warsaw Citizens Police Academy that is a model for the country in the area of public and police cooperation. Our sworn officers are some of the best trained and most professional in the country. All of this has come about under the watch of Chief Allebach. His leadership and professionalism should be commended.

I, for one, am glad that Chief Allebach cares enough about the education of the youth of this city that he serves on the school board. I believe it shows a commitment to do more than "lock 'em up" when dealing with juvenile crime. I further believe it broadens the chief's understanding of issues facing the community and gives him a more balanced view of the nature of the community he so ably serves.

I might suggest that Councilman Lawshe apply for the next Warsaw Citizens Police Academy class. The training would give him a better understanding of just what it is the police department does and would probably improve his ability to serve on the city council. I would remind Councilman Lawshe that he is an elected official and that he is sworn to represent his constituents' best interests. I will remember his statements concerning our police department when election time arrives. I urge others to remember also.

Love

Editor, Times Union:
First off, I'd like to clarify one thing, there are two basic human emotions: Fear and love. Fear is the negative emotion and manifests as hatred, mistrust, anger, doubt, paranoia, blame and prejudice, to name just a few. Love, on the other hand, is the basis for positive emotions, joy, happiness, unity, respect, ecstasy, fulfillment, satisfaction and compassion.

The pettiness I have seen demonstrated here in our community saddens me. Fear still controls the society in which we live. Look inside yourselves. Why are you living in fear? Fear of others who are different from ourselves, fear of authority, fear of accepting responsibility for your actions, fear of being who we really are, fear of Earth-changes, fear of being politically correct, fear of the Second Coming, fear of God? Why? Why are you living in fear?

Recently, I left "the system." Everyone asked me "Why?" Well, here's the real reason: The system does not work for me anymore. It's a patriarchal paradigm based on control through fear. This archaic system which has been in place in our society for thousands of years no longer works. Why is it crumbling? It's not because of the lack of spirituality or belief in God, but because it has not kept up with the evolution of humanity. The paradigm uses ignorance and fear to keep us this way, not thinking for ourselves. So a new improved paradigm must be developed to embrace this new way of life. One coming from love, unity and respect.

We are entering into an age of awakening, The Age of Aquarius, the time of self-discovery. In doing so, humanity will evolve from a fear-based society to one of love and understanding. It has to in order to survive; we will destroy ourselves otherwise. We must learn to take responsibility for our thoughts and actions and live in light and love. This is not something new, it started in the '60s when many said "Make love, not war." Life here on this 3-D Earth existence is about living in love and light through everything you do and expressing this love to all you encounter.

It's also about remembering who you are. Remembering that you are not separate and apart from God, it's about discovering that God lies within us and always has. We have forgotten this. We have strayed from the truth. We have been led to worship an entity that is separate and outside of ourselves. This belief feeds the spell of mortality and fear of God. This is part of the old paradigm.

We've all heard "Your life is what you make it." Guess what? It's true! You create your own reality. You control your life, your destiny. Thoughts manifest as reality. If you live in negativity, then negativity will manifest in your life. Live in light and love and these will be with you.

Take control of your lives and honor the Divine in all things. This is the first step.
