Homosexuality
Editor, Times-Union:There are a number of verses in the Bible about homosexuality. The term has been changed, and today our culture calls it being "gay." But it does not matter what anyone calls it. God calls it sin, and here is how God describes it.
If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them. (NASB) Leviticus :13
God says it is a sin when a male lies with a male. The same principle holds when it is a woman with another woman. One Old Testament verse, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." (NASB) Leviticus 18:22
Some teach that since Jesus did not condemn the woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11), he does not condemn homosexuality or lesbianism. But that is not true. Listen to the New Testament: "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error." (NASB) Romans 1:26-27
The Holy Spirit wrote these words. These are words from God. The Bible is also very straight forward and says unrepentant homosexuals will not go to heaven.
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (NASB) 1 Cor. 6:9-10
That is being gay. God includes it together with "wickedness, evil, envy, murder, ...
"God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and, although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them." (NASB) Rom 1:28-32
It is sin! God hates the sin of homosexuality so much he destroyed two cities - Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 19:24) because of homosexuality.
Romans 1:28 seems to say that men and women who choose to be gay have really rejected God!
God forgives all sin, including this one. We must always remember that God loves the sinner. If you know of anyone who thinks they are gay, or thinks they were born gay, let them know we are all born sinners. But they do not have to be gay. Jesus offers to forgive them and help them to flee this sin (John 3:16 and 1 Cor. 10:13).

Proud Of Slone
Editor, Times-Union:I am so proud of how the trustee race turned out for one simple and basic reason: The King and Queen system, that some of our self-ordained special privilege people wanted to put back in place, did not work. They did everything to slander Mr. Slone but most of the voters look at themselves as common people and they decided to vote for a common man. The special privilege people still are probably wondering why they only get one vote, and how in the world did this happen with all their influence? I am so proud of Sen. Adams and State Rep. Wolkins for becoming the friend of the little people only because it was the right thing to do. Warsaw, be proud of yourself - you have become a thinking community, and have the ability to give the little guy a chance.

Veterans Day
Editor, Times-Union:I just wanted to pass on a few comments that were made to me in a letter about the [Veteran's Day] program. I had asked my uncle to attend this year.
He is 80, served in WW II and left a leg in France when he was in his early 20s. He is also a long-time educator, having been teacher, principal and assistant superintendent for many years. He and his wife wrote: "I'm at a loss for words to tell you how much we enjoyed the program. To just say 'thanks' for inviting us is just not enough. It was a tremendous morning! We had never seen, in person, the folding of the flag and know the meaning of each fold. It was so impressive I couldn't keep back the tears.
"The band and choir were so good. All the students had so much poise and went about their jobs so calmly and efficiently. They must have a great staff at both schools. We keep mentioning something about the program to each other. Thanks again for inviting us."

Editor, Times-Union:I found one true statement, made by a girl referred to as "Brittany," in the article in this newspaper about nonsanctioned clubs. She was quoted as saying, "People are ignorant and they need to learn." People will include Brittany. She has parents who are trying to tell her to stay out of this so called gay-straight alliance. Her parents should have the authority over her. I see this club as the beginning of the takeover of the public schools. Don't let anyone tell you that this organization plans to stay low key. They want to be front and center. I find it hard to believe that our school system has staff members willing to sit in on this kind of propaganda. Parents, the children belong to you, not the school system. Your parental rights are at stake. Take a stand.
