Stay Off Drugs

Editor, Times-Union:
My community and school are teaming up to keep kids off drugs. We are teaming up so that we can keep kids in school and keep people with healthy minds. We also want them to get good jobs and great educations. I don't want more people to die from drugs or to catch any kind of disease. If you stay off drugs you will be able to do all of your favorite sports such as soccer, baseball, and many more. We care so much about the people and kids in our community, so please stay off drugs.

Corey Spangle, Claypool Elementary School - 6th grade

Libertarian

Editor, Times-Union:
I have to take exception to Rex Bradt's letter of Nov. 2. Like so many people, Mr. Bradt has fallen for the ploy of the 2 major political parties, that is to say that voting for third party candidates is a waste of your vote. Mr. Bradt, if you really oppose socialism, waste and big government how can you possibly believe that voting Democrat or Republican will change that? I have been voting for 40 years and what I have seen is taxes going up, waste increasing, government getting bigger, education of our children going down the drain, government taking over some of our most personal decisions and all this while Democrats and Republicans are in office. I'm sorry to tell you Mr. Bradt but if you voted for Democrats or Republicans then you have voted to support all of the above. I voted against all of the above by voting Libertarian. I also believe that under Democrats and Republicans we will eventually lose our right to keep and bear arms.

No Mr. Bradt, my party didn't win but let me say this, the other two parties know that not everybody supports their tax, spend and waste policies.

Charles Carnes, Warsaw

Accident

Editor, Times-Union:
Last month, I was in a car accident at the intersection of Scott and Center Streets in Warsaw. It was the first one I had been in and needless to say I was pretty shaken. I was driving alone so I had no one to help me. Suddenly a woman appeared and helped to calm me until the ambulance arrived. She even went so far as to run back to her house and call my parents. When the MTEMS ambulance got there, Ed and Nancy helped a lot too. They talked with me and cheered me up. The same woman came back and asked if I needed anything out of my car. I told her I needed two things and she got almost everything that I'd need. Later after my father got there I thanked her and asked her name. She said it wasn't important and walked away. So to Ed and Nancy, thank you for doing more than your job. And to the woman who stayed by until she knew everything was okay, thanks whoever you are and I'll never forget your generosity.

Elizabeth Howell, Silver Lake

Nursing Home

Editor, Times-Union:
This letter is to let our area know first hand that we are very fortunate to have two very efficient and caring nursing homes.

The Grace Village Health Care and Masons! The care I received at both of these lovely places was compassionate and loving and well done, neat and clean rooms and facilities made it much easier to spend two months there.

Also having American Traveler's nursing home insurance with Charles Dort who comes to Grace Village every month to help residents with Medicare and insurance claims, etc. took the worry of much of the cost for the nursing homes. Thank you all so much!

Una Mae McDairmant, Warsaw

Thanks

Editor, Times-Union:
We would like to thank Pierceton Preschools and also Madison School for coloring the pictures for the veterans.

American Legion Unit 258, Pierceton
