Frustrated In Pierceton

Editor, Times-Union:
I am writing this letter to vent my frustration with the lack of enforcement of laws. Some citizens in the town of Pierceton are exempt from having to follow the same rules and laws that 95 percent of the citizens of the town follow.

#1 - Street Blocked - My neighbor has a body shop (which he does on the weekends and evenings). It is a daily frustration for me and my neighbors to have to always drive around his friends cars which are blocking on lane of the street on Columbia Street. The corner of Columbia and Third streets are a dangerous intersection due to people flying around the corner. If you are passing one of the cars in the street and someone flies around the corner - you have nowhere to go; and you will be at fault if an accident would occur. The police of Pierceton are guilty of parking there and blocking the street also. So calling the town of Pierceton is useless.

#2 - Junk cars - My neighbor who owns the body shop also has quite a few of junk cars parked anywhere that he can cram the cars. Once again, he is never cited to clean up his property, but let a normal citizen have a junk car parked in their driveway and the town is the first to jump on them.

#3 - Rodents - Any given day, we see groundhogs, mice and possums run across the street from one junk car to another. Who knows what other creatures are lurking around that property.

#4 - Paint fumes - During the summer months, he opens his garage door just enough to blow out paint fumes - don't you have to have special ventilation since YOU are a business? My children's rooms are in the path of these fumes. If you stand to the side of the body shop you are able to view the paint fumes coming out in clouds - this is REAL healthy.

#5 - Business phone number - If you have a business shouldn't your phone number be listed as a business line and not as a residential line? Are you trying to cheat the phone company too?

I have two small children and if one of my children would get bit - I would not want to be this neighbor. I am not writing his name in this article because of the information that I have written in this letter, the town of Pierceton, the accused and others in Pierceton will know who this is about.

I do not know what this man has over the town of Pierceton, but the town should wake up and see that this man is nothing but lawsuit waiting to happen.

I am asking that the town of Pierceton help in the cleanup of this eyesore. This letter is just the beginning of my attempt to get this town cleaned up. I love living here - but I can no longer be quiet about my frustrations. I have been to the town marshal several times over the years and the neighbor cleans things up for a while (like a few days) and then goes back to his old ways.

Thank you for listening!

Trade Agreements

Editor, Times-Union,
A while back you had editorials on the Constitution, only thing was, the Bill of Rights are only part of it. There are at least two parts dealing with commerce (trade) that makes the so-called fast track trade agreements in violation of the Constitution. As surprising as it may sound, our elected officials are very much aware that they do violate the Constitution. Approximately two weeks or so ago, Senator Byrd of West Virginia stood on the Senate floor explaining this all for anyone and everyone to hear. Mr. Editor, I read the following in my copy of the Constitution. Article I, Section 8 (Powers of Congress) among some of their duties is the following: To regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes. The other deals with treaties Article II, Section 2. Which in part says that the president shall have the power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two-thirds of the senators present concur.

Nowhere in the above instances does it say that these so-called trade or treaties cannot be amended or changed by the Congress or by the Senate. That is their constitutional right to do so. Any law or rule that is made restricting these rights is in violation of the Constitution, any member of Congress that votes to give up these constitutional rights has violated their oaths of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Nowhere in the Constitution does it say that it shall be members of the Council of the Foreign Relations, and/or the Bildersberg doing all these trade deals by and for its members. But when one does a background check on who is doing the negotiating of these so-called treaties, one will find that these are the people doing the trade deals. Worst yet, there are members in Congress that know all about these people for they too not only belong to these groups but when attending their meetings do so at the taxpayer expense. My question to you, Mr. Editor, why is it that when any armed service military person violates their oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all of its enemies both foreign and domestic, they are subject to serve time either in a stockade or in a federal prison, and if in time of war subject to be put to death by execution. But a member of Congress, a president or a high governmental official can violate the same oath and nothing happens? Why is it not an impeachable offense when a president or a member of Congress openly says they are for a one-world government? A new world order? And are allowed to belong to organizations such as the Council of Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission and the Bildersberg, whose members make no secret of supporting a one-world government. And totally abolishing our nation's Constitution.

Scam Against Elderly

Editor, Times-Union:
A recent event has prompted me to write this letter to warn others of a scam that happened to a elderly family member.

Last Saturday, Aug. 25th, my uncle was enjoying the cooler weather on his porch. Two men in a red pickup truck pulled up and came onto the porch and were trying to sell him something. He declined the purchase, but they chatted with him and he loves company. They remarked about his age. He proudly told them he was 93, and they feigned disbelief. He told them again, they acted incredulous, they just couldn't believe he was 93. They asked him to show them his driver's license. He did, and they proceeded to rob him of $167, all the money in his wallet.

He let them take it because he was afraid they would hurt him. He couldn't sleep that night, he was afraid they would come back and hurt him and steal from him again.

To those men who robbed my uncle, do you know he is battling cancer for the third time? Did it make you "manly" to take money from a 93-year-old man who doesn't even weigh 100 pounds? Would you like someone to go to your grandparents' home and act friendly to them and then threaten them and take their money right in front of their eyes, knowing that they are helpless to defend themselves?

You must be totally worthless, I can't imagine anyone who knows you would be impressed if you bragged about how you got your money. I am hoping you do brag about this and someone with a conscience turns you in.

To any other older citizens of Warsaw, please don't let this happen to you. Don't get your wallet out to show anyone your ID. If two males that are of medium height with light to medium hair that drive a red pickup come to your home and try to sell you something, please contact the police. Crime upon the elderly is more than despicable, seniors deserve our respect and love, not abuse and a cowardly act such as this.

Cleaning Airwaves

Editor, Times-Union:
Regarding the letter of Aug. 20, sent in by Mrs. Ned Konica, I want to express my appreciation of her desire to clean the airways of the "trash," as she put it. I do not know Mrs. Konica, or any of the three who responded so quickly to put her down, but I surmise that she was voicing her complaint more against the words of the music than the music itself.

As for myself, I listen very little to the radio but what I have overheard from radios of others, I must agree with Mrs. Konica that some of the language is downright vulgar and, in my estimation, nothing of redeeming value to the music. As for the statements made by the dissenting letter writers, asserting that if Mrs. Konica didn't like what was being played on the radio she could turn it off, I feel they are missing a very important point. For even if she does "turn it off," it is still on the airways available to young yet innocent ears to gather in.

Let me explain my position. Having been raised on a dairy farm by God-fearing parents, my vocabulary was essentially free of vulgarity until in 1939 at the tender age of 19 I joined the Navy. Upon arriving aboard the battleship U.S.S. California, I found myself among those who seemed to be unable to express themselves without the use of vulgar language. I now am ashamed to state, and am only doing so to make a point, that, due to the desire to "fit in" with the more seasoned "older salts," as they were called, I soon found myself using the same filthy language so frequently used by my shipmates. Why? Because I didn't know any better. I only knew that I wanted to fit in.

After nearly 20 years and through two wars that were fought so that we could be free to express our beliefs without fear of retribution, God, by His grace set me free some 40 years ago from that uglier part of my life.

I guess my point is that what is out there available to be heard, be it on the airways or by someone nearby, can be an influencing factor to a young developing mind.

Are the words that Mrs. Konica complained of hearing with the music aired by WRSW what we want exposed to young innocent minds? Think about it.
