Editor, Times-Union:I have heard several negative comments about service at Kosciusko Community Hospital and emergency room. The services I have received there have been very professional. I want everyone to know what a wonderful hospital we have right here in Warsaw.
I have had several serious illnesses since 1994. In 1998 alone, I have been hospitalized three times. I was recently discharged after a nine-day stay in ICU. Each time I have received excellent care.
I want to publicly thank the KCH team for the superb care they have given to me. I received expert help from the emergency department, X-ray department, pulmonary department, laboratory and nursing services. The ICU staff always treated me with skill and compassion. The doctors were especially kind and patient as they managed my complicated problems and provided excellent surgical services. The entire staff encouraged me through a very difficult time.
I thank God for His care, and for the wonderful help from the doctors, nurses and other staff. I recommend KCH to everyone in our area.

Parking Situation
Editor, Times-Union:It is with utter disgust and infuriation that I watch the closing of another chapter in the demise of retail shopping in downtown Warsaw. The large free city parking lot between Indiana and Buffalo Streets, donated to the city by Frank Brennan and other downtown businessmen for the sole purpose of a free city parking lot, now becomes the city's municipal rental lot. Almost 80 percent of what was once the premier free parking lot in downtown Warsaw is now leased spaced, not accessible to the public. The filling of the city's coffers appears to be more important to the current administration than the filling of downtown businesses with clients and customers. As a part owner of a downtown business and a downtown shopper whenever possible, I find it appalling that the most precious commodity for a retailer, convenient parking for its customers, is being eliminated by the city. Frank Brennan and company would indeed be upset to see what has happened to their gift to the city. I hope other downtown merchants and shoppers will voice their opinions to the mayor and to other city officials and let them know how valuable these parking places are to the survival of retail businesses in downtown Warsaw. I can only hope that the reserve parking places that surround the City Building at Market and High Street will soon be opened up for public parking so there will be some spots left for our customers downtown.

Impeach Clinton
Editor, Times-Union:I saw a bumper sticker recently that gave me a new lease on life. It said "Impeach Clinton Now! - Call 1-888-Leave D.C." - so I did, and was sent a petition to Congress urging the commencement of impeachment proceedings against President Clinton believing that sufficient evidence of gross misconduct exists, pointing specifically to the mounting evidence of multiple acts of bribery, a Constitutionally impeachable offense. This petition, I notice, has been developed by the National Impeach Clinton ACTION Committee, an affiliate of the John Birch Society headquartered in Appleton, Wis. I certainly wish to congratulate the John Birch Society for this effort in view of the virtual criminal negligence exhibited by Congress in failing to initiate impeachment proceedings against this president long ago when media reports indicated that agents of communist China (one of our most dedicated enemies) were pouring money into the Democratic National Committee with the apparent effect of gaining presidential favors and influence our national elections. One such agent reportedly raised $3 million for the Democratic National Committee, then received top secret security clearance, attended 109 security briefings and then frequently contacted communist Chinese agents and officials and visited the Chinese Embassy. The list seems endless, however I think the most blatant quotation reported comes from one who reportedly gave $466,000 of illegal funds from China to the DNC and then stated, "I see the White House is like a subway, you have to put coins in to open the gates." After Hubbellgate, Filegate, Chinagate and now Floozygate, I for one have had enough of a president and administration that make the Watergate perpetrators of a bygone era look like choirboys by comparison. Let's sign this petition and regain control of our great republic once again as courageous Americans worthy of our heritage purchased with the fortunes, blood and sacred honor of those who have come before us on the myriad battlefields of history. Their heroism, faded in the mists of time, must now be remembered, for we are the inheritors of their great commission to preserve the greatest republic the world has ever known. We must act now!

Angels
Editor, Times-Union:I am the mother of a 7-year-old disabled angel. I lost my laughing, playing daughter three years ago and I gained a daughter who is a silent witness.
I believe the community of Warsaw should know who its real angels are.
There is a wonderful lady at Wal-Mart named Judy and she always speaks to my daughter like she is a regular child. Even though my daughter doesn't speak I know she loves this angel from God.
We were also blessed with a Christian doctor, who is kind and loving with my child. That is rare in this day and time.
My heart and spirit have grown stronger through the love and support of wonderful family and friends. That I know God has sent from heaven.
If you know someone who is disabled or the parent of a disabled child lift them up by being an angel.
The city of Warsaw has many unseen angels and everyone should feel blessed to live in such a loving, caring community.
"Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." Psalm 31:24.

Youth Club Director
1Editor, Times-Union:Just a note of correction. In a recent article published in the Times-Union on the hiring of Cindi Reinholt as the new Youth for Christ executive director, your reporter incorrectly stated that Cindi's husband Keith is the director of Baker Youth Clubs (Baker Boys' Clubs and Baker Girls' Clubs). Keith is at Reinholt's Town Square Furniture and a valuable board member of BYC, however, I am still the executive director as I have been since 1992. In fact, I have a lot more years to go as I am only the third executive director in our 72-year history. Pete Thorn was the club's first executive director from 1926-63, then Robert "Litch" Lichtenwalter from 1963-92. (Talk about a hard act to follow!) So I have to work until the year 2030 to beat Pete's record.
I am very excited as we are preparing to start our 73rd year on September 3. We are planning to operate separate Baker Boys' Clubs and Baker Girls' Clubs in Warsaw, Pierceton, North Webster, Atwood, Silver Lake, Claypool, Leesburg, Milford, Mentone and Syracuse. Our attendance goal for 1999 is over 18,000 people!
I am also excited about the recent merger between BYC and another established local youth organization, Youth Outreach Organization. Y.O. is a 20-year-old ministry outreach program founded by Jerry and Kathy Landrum. Y.O. specializes in high energy Christian youth ministries. Traditional values are taught with "cutting edge" techniques. This fits in perfectly with our goal for helping the youth of Kosciusko County grow physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. Jerry Landrum, who has been a BYC program director, board member and club member for years, has been working with teens and adults to involve them in cross cultural missions trips to Europe since 1985. The BYC board recently OK'd a cooperative venture between Y.O. and BYC that will give BYC a work that will reach across the world while bringing much value to the lives of many in our own area as well. A Y.O. trip usually visits schools and homes of English speaking young people in European countries and tries to share our community, country and faith with these students. Y.O. itself has several exciting programs:
Atlantic Bridge - Cross cultural overseas exchange trips allow local youth to experience life abroad.
Camfel Production - Very successful cutting edge multi-media school convocations that reach youth with a powerful message.
High Adventure - Camping treks to various beautiful locations to reach youth on a deeper level.
Specialized Youth Ministry - Concerts, speakers, creative youth planning and Christian drama.
Media Consultants - Quality state-of-the-art web page development, slide tape sets, video production, computer graphics, multi-media consultants.
Youth Development Club - A club operated with a Christian perspective of juvenile delinquency intervention.
Ask anyone that has attended Baker Youth Clubs over the past 72 years and they will let you know that our motto, "An experience that lasts a lifetime," is very true.
