Are You A Libertarian?

Editor, Times-Union:
Are you a Libertarian? Many people choose to live their life as Libertarians, however most people don't even know that they ARE a Libertarian. You already agree with most of what we stand for. Personal liberty. Economic freedom. The Bill of Rights. Lower taxes. Limited government.

What you may not know is how much progress the Libertarian Party is making to turn those shared beliefs into political success.

1. We ran more candidates in 2000 than all other alternative parties COMBINED! We're also "the first third party to put forth candidates for a majority of House seats since 1920," reported Washington, D.C.'s "The Hill."

2. We're electing Libertarians at a record pace; there are already over 500 Libertarian officeholders around the USA. We've elected state representatives. Mayors. City council members. More than twice as many elected officials as all other third parties COMBINED!

3. We're making a difference. Over the past year, Libertarians helped defeat new taxes, tax increases and repeal taxes. These are all huge steps in the right direction.

A 20 percent sales tax increase for Indiana is a step in the wrong direction.

But don't blame me, I voted Libertarian.

Living History Festival

Editor, Times-Union:
Thank you everyone for a great Wild Rose Moon Festival! Loveway Therapeutic Horseback Riding Center, Middlebury, held its 22nd Annual Living History Festival on the Loveway grounds June 1st and 2nd. After paying bills of $9,569, the final profit was $19,595. Thank you everyone who helped with this event! Thank you everyone who helped us raise these dollars to serve our special needs kids from all over Michiana. The 2002 Loveway quilt was won by members of the Goshen Noon Kiwanis who generously donated the quilt back to Loveway to be auctioned at next year's festival! We hope to see you next year June 8th and 9th for another great festival.

Great Winona Weekend

Editor, Times-Union:
The July 4th holiday weekend in Winona Lake was terrific! The Saturday activities at the Winona Park were wonderful. Families and children were having the best of times.

Many thanks to all who did so much work on this project. Thanks to those who donated money and time to make the day such a success.

We are looking forward to 2003 at Winona.
