- Thief - Korean Duty - Infertility Treatment

Thief

Editor, Times-Union:
I worked very hard picking raspberries. I use my extra money on one special thing every year, my horse or my kids. But this year, the honesty system failed only after three days of selling. So to whomever, thank you for making me so aware of people like you. You are unreal to come to my house in which you then walked right up to my table and took my can and all my hard-earned money. To everyone who was honest with me, thank you so much. I just wish there were more people out there like you.

You must not have any idea what you go through to pick two pints to equal one raspberry pie.

I really wish I could find you. For some reason I believe you live close because you knew my car was gone. That's because after picking raspberries, I go to my real job and work for my money. You need to know the meaning of work instead of taking what wasn't yours to begin with. Hope you enjoyed taking what little extra I could make.

Korean Duty

Editor, Times-Union:
Sp. 4 grade Jason Smith, grandson of Paula and Albert G. Smith, before he was sent to Korea, recently had won four different awards after completing his basic training in the U.S. Army. He was declared the best soldier in his company. This is the very same "kid," a 1998 Warsaw Community High School graduate. For four years at our local WCHS, he was tormented daily by other students. Mr. "Principal" and the teachers made no effort to correct this punishment. He was, and is, a good citizen.

Jason joined the army to prepare himself to go on to college. He is now paying this price by being stationed 20 miles from the North Korean border. Yes, only 20 miles.

We love you, Jason. We worry about you daily.

Infertility Treatment

Editor, Times-Union:
There is an online petition in support of S. 2160, the Fair Access to Infertility Treatment and Hope Act (FAITH). S. 2160 is a bill in the U.S. Senate, introduced by Senator Robert Torricelli, which would require insurance to cover infertility diagnosis and treatments. To sign the petition, go to www.i-charity.net/bin/ptn/77

It is sad that most people don't know how to relate to couples who have infertility problems and cannot conceive a child on their own accord. Those who have had children, planned or unplanned, have a difficult time understanding the heartache, torture, failure, financial drain, emotional stress and so on they have while yearning for just one child of their own. I want to share with you this online petition that allows you to voice your opinion in 500 characters or less to convince these people and insurance companies that every couple deserves a chance to be parents. If you are going through infertility right now or if you know of anyone who is, PLEASE put in your vote today. I noticed on the site that a lot of people from Indiana are speaking up. Perhaps our state will be the next one to be helped. Thank you.
