Welcome To Warsaw

Editor, Times-Union:
Welcome to Warsaw! No growth! No competition! Run by a select few. Chase anyone away who dares try to enter. Everything's just dandy the way it is! Welcome to Warsaw!

First came the Pow Wow, then a psychic touch healing class at the library, psychic fair, and now classes being offered at a local business on past lives, soul trouble, dreams, etc. Past lives? The Bible says in Hebrews 9:27, "It is appointed unto men once to die and after this the judgment." Not many lives and deaths, one life.

I know what is being offered to people in Warsaw and I pray that people have enough of God in their lives to know that these things and classes, satanism, the occult, etc., lead to spiritual darkness and torment. I know because I used to follow after supposedly "enlightened" teachings. Thinking there were many ways to God when there is only one way - truth and life, Jesus Christ. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Christ.

As a teenager I was empty looking for something to fill the empty place in my life that only God can fill. I went to the wrong sources to fill that emptiness. I started out with books on psychic powers, the occult, psychic healings, the power of your mind, higher meditational planes and witchcraft. I had tarot cards (harmless fun?), a Ouija board (more harmless fun?). No, it's an opening up of your soul to evil. Don't have these things in your home, they represent darkness and are a counterfeit to the real God, Jehovah, the I am that I am, the everlasting Father. The Bible says that if you try to enter into heaven any other way but by Jesus, you are a thief and a robber. - John 10:1. These counterfeit paths look so good because Satan transforms himself into an angel of light or enlightenment - II Corinthians 11:14. In Galatians 1:8, If a man or an angel (or being) preach any other Gospel (or way to God) other than the Holy Bible, let him be accursed.

I am eternally thankful I found the greater power and true love in the Word and saving blood of Jesus Christ that set me free from the darkness I was in and gave me wonderful peace and joy.

People, pray for Kosciusko County and our nation for we don't fight against people but against principalities against powers and rulers of darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places - Ephesians 6:12. We fight with weapons you can't see, prayer and faith in the Word of God. They are mighty through God to destroy the works of the devil (taking people to hell and deceiving them) and showing that his paths are lies, trying to exalt himself above God, which he has tried to do from the beginning - II Corinthians 10:4-5.

I am so glad I found the right path.

Looking for something out of this world to do this summer? Come join members of the Warsaw Astronomical Society at the WAS/YMCA Camp Crosley Observatory. We will be open one hour after sunset on clear Saturday nights through Labor Day. You will have a chance to observe some of the planets, the moon, galaxies, nebulas and more throughout the summer at one of northern Indiana's largest observatories. Members from the Warsaw Astronomical Society will be on hand to help you experience the nighttime sky and answer questions.

Camp Crosley is located off CR 675E, near North Webster. Turn onto Tony McNeal Road and park in the observatory parking lot that is on the left side of the road. Go to the top of the grassy hill. At the top, take the trail to the right until you come to the observatory. If you are arriving after dark, you may wish to bring a flashlight. If you would like additional information, call Kurt Eberhardt at 269-6289 or Del Fisher at 594-5123. Admission is free.

On behalf of the entire Silver Lake Days Committee I would like to thank all who attended and participated in Silver Lake Days 2000! In particular, we would like to publicly thank all our wonderful merchants for their support, be it supplies, money or whatever. ... Without them there certainly would not be a festival held in Silver Lake each year. In addition a big thanks to our local, county and state police, area fire departments and area EMS organizations for their help. Also thanks to our area radio stations and newspapers for their coverage. Lastly, but certainly not least, many thanks to the festival committee itself as they were the ones who truly made it happen. Next year we'll be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the festival, and plans are already under way for that special year.
