Abortion Pill

Editor, Times-Union:
The Chinese company producing the abortion pill, RU-486, for the U.S. market has a real "data integrity problem" at the plant, to say nothing of mislabeling. They copied data from another application to fulfill requirements. Surprise, surprise, they still have the contract!

You will be told this pill is safe. You can abort your child in the privacy of your own home. You must, however, be within 50 miles to a hospital. To my knowledge, this is the only type of abortion to have that requirement. Strange, huh? Not at all. You will be told there could be bleeding for about eight days. Bleeding my foot! Hemorrhaging is more like it and this explains the hospital bit. Where else do you get blood transfusions? There is no antidote for this chemical that causes the hemorrhaging, thus blood transfusions.

Now comes the catch, a real disaster in the making! The American Red Cross will NOT be accepting from any donor who has lived overseas longer than three months, due to mad cow disease. (China has reported one case of human mad cow disease.) We owe the American Red Cross a great debt! They do supply our hospitals with blood and always have a need. However, with our military, home from overseas, not being able to donate, the blood supply will be eight percent shorter yet. America does not need a new demand for blood due to RU-486!

Where is the outrage from women's libs? Can't they see the needless loss of our young women's lives? Why haven't they raged at the FDA? The blood supply just won't be there. Under the circumstances the FDA should rethink this abortion pill and cancel the whole thing! How many forms of abortion do they need to fulfill their need to kill the unborn? They will certainly be taking a lot of young women's lives, also.

Silver Lake Days

Editor, Times-Union:
On behalf of the entire Silver Lake Days Committee, I would like to thank everyone who attended and helped with the annual Silver Lake Days Festival. Thanks goes to so many people from the judges of our annual parade to the area radio stations and newspapers for their fine coverage, we could not have done it without you. Thanks to all the local clubs for their assistance, the area law enforcement agencies, fire and EMS departments ... the list goes on and on. The festival would not be possible without their continued financial support. Lastly, the festival committee itself ... you are the ones who indeed make it happen! Again, thank you to all involved.

Waco Justice

Editor, Times-Union:
Timothy McVeigh blows up a federal building and kills 168 people, 19 of which were innocent children. Timothy McVeigh gets the death penalty and is executed. Janet Reno has a tank drive through the wall of a building at Waco and starts a fire that kills 80 people, 23 of which were innocent children. Janet Reno walks away scott free and is now thinking of running for governor of Florida. Is Janet Reno above the law? Where is the outrage? Where is the justice? Where was the TV and radio coverage? Where is the memorial for all those people who died at Waco? They were Americans, too! Have a nice day.

Health Fest

Editor, Times-Union:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many members of this community for their participation in the First Annual HealthFest.

There are many individuals who we need to thank. First and foremost, are the dedicated, talented and innovative members of the HealthFest Committee who put hours and hours into the organizing and details that made this event a huge success.

Then there are the businesses and corporations that so eagerly lent their support for the health betterment of this, their community.

And finally, for the over 380 registrants who attended the HealthFest and the patience that was shown on their part for a few details that needed working out by the committee.

We will anticipate more involvement next year by both businesses and corporations and also by the citizens of this great community. Without the involvement of so many, the HealthFest would not be the event that it was, and I would personally like to thank each and every participant. This is a wonderful community that we all live in and enjoy.

Women On Target

Editor, Times-Union:
I'd like to thank all the parties involved with Warsaw's recent NRA Women on Target¨ event. WRPC & KOSKO Conservation Inc. both hosted portions of this event. Approximately 30 ladies came out to WRPC in the morning for basic pistol and rifle instruction under the watchful attention of WRPC and Burket Shooters Association instructors and then we all headed over to KOSKO at noon where the local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation put on a great lunch for the ladies through their Women in the Outdoors¨ program. After lunch the KOSKO Conservation instructors braved the rain with the ladies and delighted them with an afternoon full of instructional fun! Thanks again to all who made this event a great first time!

Unemployed

Editor, Times-Union:
I am asking the people in this wonderful community to please keep my brother, Dale Zimmerman, and his family in their prayers. The reason is because, after six and one-half years, he was let go from his job which he liked. His wife still works there, but they are struggling, especially with three children to raise. He has been out every day looking for work, but has found nothing yet. It's like he has lost some of his faith in others and in the Lord. He is too proud to ask for anything from anyone. If you would like to send him a letter of encouragement, his address is 524 E. Center St., Warsaw, IN 46580. Thank you.

P.S. May God bless you.
