Open Mind
Editor, Times-Union:I would like to thank those who were not angered with my editorial. I know that my comments may have been too strong, or inaccurate, and I would like to apologize for that. I would also like to let people know that I am not Satanic, I am not anything at the moment. I would also like to let it be known that my parents had no influence on the matter, so if those who were angered wish to persecute me, please do it to me, my parents are innocent. Mr. Ellis, I apologize for criticizing you, in no way did I mean to insult anyone or any religion, although it may have seemed like that. I may have seemed hypocritical in the letter, I did not intend it to be that way. I should have also remembered where the letter was from, things in Arizona may be different from here. I feel no competition with Christianity, although it may seem like that. I was also wrong in saying that I have better morals than some Christians, because I do not know them all, I was judgmental when I wrote the editorial. I wrote the letter out of anger and not out of common sense. I try my best to keep an open mind, most of the time I succeed. My views of religion are fairly simple. If it is sincere, and it makes you a better person, then I have no problem with it. To those of you that are Christian, I bear no hatred toward you, and I hope that you feel the same. Thank you for listening to me, I hope that this letter may have cleared some things up for all of you.

Tootsie Roll Drive
Editor, Times-Union:I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who made this year's Tootsie Roll Drive a success. Because of the generosity of the Warsaw community and the hard work of all the volunteers, it was another record. You continue to make Warsaw No. 1 in the state of Indiana for funds raised in this drive. We will be presenting Cardinal Center and Special Olympics with a total of over $17,400 from this year's fund-raiser.
We apologize to all persons who were delayed while we collected on those two days in May, and thank you for your understanding of this important project. Without your generosity Cardinal Center and Special Olympics could not offer all the services they currently do.
Again, thanks and many blessings to all who helped and donated.

DARE Officers Say Thanks
Editor, Times-Union:The 1999-2000 school year ended with 615 sixth graders graduating from the DARE program. We would like to thank all those who helped these students choose to live drug free. Many thanks to all the local businesses who helped with the charitable contributions that made this year possible. Thanks to all the Warsaw school principals and teachers for your unfailing support of the program. And thanks to all the sixth- graders who made this year unforgettable.

Editor, Times-Union:Mr. Kitson, I'm still here. Starting my own business, in addition to my already full-time job, doesn't leave a lot of time for writing, but glad you missed me.
As for the Million Mom March, I especially liked the revision of that to the "Million Moron March." I do not own any firearms, but I certainly defend the rights of those who do. Gun laws and firearm confiscation do not deter criminals. In fact, it gives them more freedom to rape, rob and murder without the fear of armed confrontation.
It is not the police officer's duty to defend or protect the individual citizen. It would be virtually impossible anyway as we certainly cannot afford to hire enough officers to protect everyone. We are responsible for our own and our family's protection.
Where there is less gun control, there is less crime. More lives are saved by firearms every day than what are lost, but the media doesn't tell that. It is not the agenda of those who control the media to publish the advantages of being an armed society.
If we lose the right to keep and bear arms, there will be nothing to stop those who would from taking away the remainder of our rights one by one. And be assured the agenda behind gun control is total disarmament of the American people.
It is our duty as citizens of this nation to hold those in government accountable in following and upholding our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
It is not guns that are destroying our nation. It is the turning away from God. It is taking God out of our schools and disallowing the Ten Commandments to be displayed and taught. It is accepting and pushing an immoral lifestyle on our children, turning our nation into another Sodom and Gomorrah. It is the murder of millions of babies. It is greed and the love of money, etc.
Ask the Jews about gun control. Hitler confiscated the guns for the so-called "Good of the People." Do I need to say more? I think not. Good night, Harold.
P.S. Thank you, Jessica Gaisford, for a wonderful reply to Justin.
