Remember The Fun

Editor, Times-Union:
"How soon they forget," but it was a long time ago.

Mrs. Ford Hardman presented the play "The Night of Jan. 16th" in the '30s. She directed and Mr. and Mrs. Avis Fern were makeup artists and set designers. They had a dance and acting studio in Warsaw.

Mrs. Hardman directed other shows, "Prairie Rose" and a variety show for veterans in the Fort Wayne Vets Hospital.

I played Andre and my brother, Roger, was Mr. Whitfield. "Doc" Boles was judge. I remember Bob Richmond, Milo Clase, Louise Cain, to name a few. I do remember faces but some names elude me in some of the shows.

The article brought back so many funny and good times with different people in the different shows.

In the same issue "The Night of Jan. 16th" was written up, Mrs. Ford Hardman was listed under "50 Years Ago" as being elected president of Kosciusko County Federation of Clubs.

I hope there are others around who remember the fun times.

Workforce Development

Editor, Times-Union:
Last week I attended a Indiana Workforce Development Services Seminar held in Warsaw. I recently joined the ranks of those seeking employment. Through my contact with their office, I learned of a two-day class that they held to assist those seeking employment. I have never attended any seminar where I didn't learn something, and any help was welcome. At the end of the two days, the results for me were 10X my anticipated return.

I am the first to complain about failed public programs and poor application of tax dollars. That is why I have no excuse for NOT writing this letter of praise. I am sure that most of the curriculum covered things that we all may know, but the reinforcement and encouragement gaining from attending was great. The participants were from all levels of the work force, from first-time applicants to seasoned managers and former employers. One-on-one follow-ups are done with all. I feel much more prepared and confident going to an interview now. This feeling was shared by most (if not all) that attended.

Looking for a job or even have a scheduled interview? Trust me, you should attend this class! Don't let the fact that it is provided free to the public trick you into not perceiving its value.
