Supports Daniels

Editor, Times-Union:
On May 4th, Hoosier voters will make a critical decision for our state's future. Simply put, Indiana is in need of new leadership in the governor's office and Mitch Daniels is the best candidate for our future. Mitch is a true Hoosier leader who has proven himself in both the public and private sectors and is ready to commit his outstanding skills to improving Indiana's future. Indiana needs new leadership that has the experience to deliver on the commitment to return pride to our state. We need a leader who will assemble a team of proven leaders focused on running the statehouse for the improvement of all Hoosiers. We need Mitch Daniels as the next governor of Indiana. He is the best candidate for Indiana's future. Please support him with your vote on the 4th and send a message that it's time for proven leadership in Indiana!

Daniels' Leadership

Editor, Times-Union:
I encourage primary voters to consider Mitch Daniels as their choice for governor on May 4th. I have known Mitch for nearly 30 years as a person of integrity and honesty. A successful businessman, Mitch has been called to public service by three different presidents. I am confident that he has the leadership skills and the courage to make the necessary and tough decisions to set Indiana on a proper course for future growth and prosperity. In a recent television ad, Senator Lugar said, "Mitch Daniels will always do what is right." I strongly agree with that statement. Please join me in voting for Mitch Daniels on May 4th.

Hot Button Issues

Editor, Times-Union:
As I disagree with many of the statements on this Web site, I would like to comment on the abortion/death penalty issues. As I have learned, most Democrats are pro-choice and against the death penalty. This is mind-boggling to me! How can someone support the heartless, violent, mutilation of a human being but yet be against capital punishment of a convicted felon? I especially do not see how any woman can be pro-choice. Obviously you do not have a child of your own, or have never looked into the sweet innocent eyes of a baby. From the moment a child is conceived it is a "fetus" or human being. Therefore, to have an abortion you are killing an innocent child. Along with that, you are against the punishment of a rapist or killer by death, and support spending money on keeping those slimeballs alive in jail when the funding could support education or other issues.

Religious Interpretation

Editor, Times-Union:
A recent letter to the editor asserted that the Roman Catholic Church constitutes the one church and one Christian faith. History does not support that assertion.

From the beginning of the Christian Church on Pentecost in 33 AD, the leadership of the church was apostolic and conciliar. The Apostles and the men they latter ordained as bishops decided worship, doctrinal and organizational matters in councils. For the first 754 years of the church's history, the bishops and faithful of the church overcame the heresies and schisms that developed by remaining true to the oral and written Apostolic traditions they had inherited. They preserved the unity of the church through local, regional and ecumenical councils. Beginning in the ninth century, some of the bishops of Rome began to try to exert supremacy over the other bishops of the church. This harmful development came about primarily due to the imperial pretenses of the Franks, who politicized the Roman bishops. They distorted holy Apostolic tradition by substituting the person of Peter for the shared apostolic confession of faith in Jesus Christ as the rock upon which the church is built.

In 1054, the papal rejection of conciliar church government caused a great schism to develop. Papal jurisdictions in the West become known as Roman Catholic. The remaining bishops and faithful of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church in the East became known as Orthodox Christians.

After 1054, the Roman Catholic Church leadership took on the trappings of an imperial monarchy while adding worship practices and doctrines unknown in the East. This imperial tyranny led to the bloody sacking of Constantinople in 1204 and the subsequent attempt to forcefully subjugate the Orthodox Christians in the East. In the West, the torture and murder of thousands in the Inquisition and implementation of corrupt papal indulgences led to the Protestant Reformation, beginning in 1517.

Tragically, the reformers were unable to unite themselves in communion with the Orthodox Christians in the East, or with each other. Their rejection of almost all of the holy Apostolic traditions except for the New Testament Scriptures doomed them to ever-increasing sectarianism and confusion.

History confirms that the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church continues to exist as Jesus Christ said it would; yet because his grace is not limited by time or space, only he knows who truly belongs to her.

Verify Addresses

Editor, Times-Union:
Have you stood at the counter of the Kosciusko County Auditor and Kosciusko County Treasurer to verify your address details for property tax purposes? Please do not "assume" that your property cannot be taken away from you by the current mob in the courthouse if your details are incorrect! Did you know that neither office is actually required by law to notify you of tax delinquency or of a tax sale if your details are incorrect? Also, did you know that those offices are immune from prosecution if they make a mistake and actually sell your property without your knowledge? The Treasurer's Office actually has our address change in their office on their paperwork and they chose to ignore it! Do not "assume" that everything is OK with your details!

Read the fine print when the Times-Union publishes property tax delinquency notices. Read each name even if you have to use a magnifying glass, and if you recognize a name, contact the person(s) involved and let them know you saw their name on the list so they can resolve any problems or else their property will be sold. If you know of people who own property in Kosciusko County and live outside the publication area of the Times-Union and do not frequent public buildings in the county, by any and all means please contact them immediately if their name appears in fine print! Don't "assume" that the people on the list know about a tax problem, they may not! Every taxpayer in Kosciusko County must rely upon one another for protection from the current "ins" and the wording of the Indiana statute!

The next full review for MCS will be in 2005-2006.
