Not So Different

Editor, Times-Union:
I am writing in response to Michael C. Mahan's Letter on April 11.

He stated that the 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. should not believe that they are entitled to benefits of any kind. Well, their entitlement comes from the fact that on their check stubs that they receive from work say the same thing that yours does, Mr. Mahan, that both state, federal and SSI taxes are being taken out of their gross pay, also. They also file their tax return before April 15 every year just like you do, Mr. Mahan, with an ITIN.

What boggles my mind is, what do you feel that the illegals are taking from you? Is it the jobs picking up trash or as a cook in a restaurant or any of the other job openings for minimum wage that the "real Americans" don't want because they feel it would be degrading to them?

So next time you want to judge them, just think they, too, cry tears and their blood is red. also. So, Mr. Mahan, they aren't so different from yourself, are they?

Illegals

Editor, Times-Union:
We in the Warsaw area should be pleased to have a man by the name of Tom Metzger back in the area. Hopefully, he can and will help us with this purge of crime and drug use and sales by Latino and confused whites in our area. We (meaning our government) need to send the illegals where they belong and not in our backyards!
