Back To The Days
Editor, Times Union:In the March 2, 2000, issue of the Times-Union, it was announced that the Steering Committee for the Annual Back to the Days of Kosciuszko festival had disbanded. While involved in last year's festival, I became aware of the amount of time and effort it took on the part of the steering committee, (Tammy Denlinger, Joanne M. Kolbe, David Taylor and many others) to coordinate an event of this size. This festival reaches both young and old in our community with educational programs for school children, historical re-enactments, and a link to the past through Thaddeus Kosciuszko, the Polish military strategist after whom the county is named.
I, personally, would like to see the Back to the Days of Kosciuszko festival continue. If there are others interested and willing to help, we need your input at an organizational meeting scheduled for Monday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kosciusko Community Senior Activity Center, located at 800 N. Park Ave. in Warsaw. If unable to attend, please call 269-6803 evenings to show your support.
Back to the Days of Kosciuszko can continue. Your time and talent is needed to make it happen. I hope to see you on Monday, March 20th.

Towing Service
Editor, Times-Union:A towing service in town has been very good to a friend of mine and I want to say "thank you." I have a friend who attends church with me, who is retired and lives on a fixed income. She had a engine problem with her car. There are several of us who are helping with her repairs but I want to publicly say thanks to Glen's Wrecker for the special he gave us on the towing. There are a lot of businesses out here that only want to make a profit. I am glad there are still some that want to help out when they can. May God bless.

Indian Sculptor
Editor, Times-Union:Teresa Carrano's great story and picture of Potawatomi Indian sculptor Mary Masters (March 9) was one of the best ever in your paper.
Thank you for the insight into the life of this remarkable woman. I'm glad to be a subscriber.

Valley Baseball
Editor, Times-Union:We, the Tippecanoe Valley baseball players, would like to take this opportunity to thank all the players, coaches, teachers and community members that came to the recent school board meeting in support of the team. We were very pleased with the backing that was given to a team that, in recent years, has not been a major area of interest at TVHS. We feel that this shows that our baseball program is headed in the right direction and that the community believes Mr. Backus and his assistant coaches will do a great job. We are writing this to thank every person who attended in support and to let them know that all of their efforts are greatly appreciated!
We as players are ready for all of this controversy to be put in the past and are looking forward to a great season.
