- Three Generations - Legislative Meeting - No Alito

Three Generations

Editor, Times-Union:
We must have a short-sighted king in Indiana, dictating to the public a time synchronous with Central or Eastern zones - any large city is OK - and leasing our valuable assets to wealthy foreigners. You sure aren't told who wants a 75 year lease, or why. Seventy-five years is at least three generations long, so what will America be like then, if he has his way? Since when is it a good idea (like the closing of chain stores) to divest in a paying asset for a temporary gain? This is not a business that has replaceable CEOs, but a Union of States.

When will public trustees start renting all of our national forests to those who leave arsenic tailings in the underground drinking water? Their people don't have to drink from that kind of water, so what do they care?

Folks have given their lives to protect friends in combat, who would guess the very folks we hire to do a job would be so trader-like to us, and be so disrespectful at the same time. The only times our very blood is needed, is in war or voting.

We "let off steam" by writing to Newspapers the gripes we have today, but this action only telegraphs our intensions to our "elected servants", some use that time to watch their retirement money grow.

Legislative Meeting

Editor, Times-Union:
With so many decisions being made by our Indiana governor and legislators, would you like to voice your opinion or praise?

The Kosciusko County Farm Bureau will be sponsoring their yearly Legislative meeting on Feb. 11 at the Farm Bureau office at 2104 N. Biomet Drive, Warsaw. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m.

Everyone is welcome.

No Alito

Editor, Times-Union:
Unfortunately, I don't think Alito can be trusted as impartial concerning Roe v. Wade. He also joins others appointed by Bush who believe in or support the executive branch's unchecked acquisition and use of power. We need a judge who can re-establish the proper balance - Alito is not this person.

Editor, Times-Union: Democrats have a long history of supporting lawlessness and they have the nerve to say no one is above the law. At times they act like spoiled children that expect to get their way all the time even if they have been naughty.
