Earth Charter Fraud

Editor, Times-Union:
Most people have never heard of an Ark of Hope, or the Earth Charter. The Ark of Hope is a 49" x 32" x 32" wooden vessel that contains the Earth Charter document. It is a design copy of the Biblical Ark of the Covenant, which housed the 10 Commandments.

Aside from their shape and name, the two relics have little in common. Today's imitation mocks God's truth and honors the world's spiritual alternatives. We need to understand the significance of this pagan ark and how it is likely to severely impact our lives.

After the terrorist attacks of 9-11, Earth Charter supporters conveniently began the promotion of the Ark of Hope with help from the United Nations. This past September, the Ark of Hope was formally presented to the world at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The drafters of the Earth Charter have set up their own version of morality and love. In effect, they are setting themselves up as God, and trying to do the work of God in humankind - without Him. It sets forth principles for establishing a global government based on communist ideology and New Age beliefs. It also possesses the means to replace not only the Ten Commandments of the Bible but the U.S. Constitution. It is intended to become a universally adopted creed that will psychologically prepare the world to accept the need of world government to save the environment. It is the hope of the Earth Charter, by sheer effort to overcome all the ills of humanity.

It is crafted by a group of globalists headed by former Soviet dictator Mikhail Gorbachev and Maurice Strong, advisor to U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Steven Rockefeller is also involved and has linked a part of the Rockefeller fortune to the promotion of the Earth Charter.

Without stirring suspicion, supporters of the Earth Charter plan to accelerate their program throughout the world, including municipalities and schools here in America.

This should give every patriotic American cause for concern. We need to make sure that this scheme does not work by informing ourselves and everyone of this fraud and expose it for what it is. Research this information at: www.ark-of-hope.org and www.earthcharter.org

Ivy Tech Expansion

Editor, Times-Union:
I was excited to read about Ivy Tech's need to expand to serve the explosive demand for higher education. I am currently a student taking six credit hours at Ivy Tech and six credit hours at IPFW, Buffalo Street.

As a working mother I am thrilled to see both schools available to accommodate the diverse educational needs of our community.

I appreciate the fact that I have the opportunity to continue my education just minutes from home, family and work. The time I save by not driving hours each day is extremely valuable. My colleagues and professors at IPFW Warsaw and Ivy Tech are supportive and encouraging. Warsaw has it all!

Tired Of ...

I'm tired ... tired of people running red lights. Not on the very tip end of a yellow light but long enough that the green light traffic should be able to move. Tired of rude, ill-mannered people in stores. I have no idea why people think they have a right to treat sales people with such disrespect, let alone throw things and treat cashiers like second-class people. Or how about cussing out a door greeter at Wal-Mart? What gives you the right?

Tired of young people swearing like sailors. Tired of people dressing in clothes not fit for public display. Tired of reality shows ... enough said. Tired of comedy shows with so much filth that nothing about them is funny. Tired of getting messages from the high school about new rules and regulations because kids don't dress properly. Where are the parents of these people? Why do you let your child buy or why do you buy clothes unsuitable for school?

Tired of trying to decipher truth and lies by the media, people I come into contact with on a daily basis. Tired of the judicial system giving brain-dead dads visiting rights to children they really don't take care of or care about. Tired of government officials and ACLU people having more sympathy for felons than the victims or their families. Tired of hearing how punishment does not deter crime. Tired of paying my good hard-earned money for welfare people who are too lazy to work. Tired of hearing that making $5.25 at McDonald's or wherever is not enough money to live on so they don't work at all. Tired of liberal bleeding hearts who believe we owe everyone a living. Tired of hearing how people who really do need help can't get it.

Tired of hearing abortion is not killing. Tired of hearing conception is not the start of life. Tired of hearing my savior's name taken in vain in every venue. Tired of hearing people complain about their parents or family and using them as excuses for their bad behavior or habits.

Tired of graffiti on trains, buildings, sidewalks. Tired of credit card companies charging 24 percent for interest when the index has descended ... also tired of the idea of three-day late fee tagged on ... what happened to 10-15 days of grace? Tired of cars costing as much as houses used to cost. Tired of basketball, football, baseball players making millions of dollars and complaining they're not making enough. Tired of tickets to games, concerts, movies being so outrageous the average family can't afford it. Who is worth 20 million a movie? ... hello, nobody!

Tired of people moving into our nice quiet community and turning it into an inner city free-for-all. If I wanted what city life gives you I'd move to Fort Wayne or Indy or Chicago. Tired of people complaining about our country but not willing to vote or write their representatives or senators or the president and saying, "Hey, I don't like this - what can we do to change it?" We live in the best country in the world - if you don't like it, move.

Anyway, I'm tired. One day I'll write and tell what I like, but today I'm tired.

U.S. Must Deal With Threats From Iraq, North Korea

Now is the time to deal with the North Korea nuclear arms situation. The North Korea threat is similar to the Iraqi threat, only Iraq has oil wealth and North Korea has no wealth.

North Korea has created a mighty military and obtained sophisticated weaponry in exchange for starving its civilians.

I am very pleased to see our administration working with other global powers in striving to neutralize this new threat. Once North Korea-Pyongyang obtains or produces nukes (which may already be a reality), it may be too late for diplomacy. Clearly the North has something to hide, otherwise, why would they disguise scud missiles as a shipload of sand bound for nowhere? (Actually the North sold the missiles to Yemen and that was their secret destination.) The offending vessel went so far as to paint over the ship's name and wasn't even flagged as required in international waters. Now North Korea wants us to apologize for the temporary detainment of this secret shipment. How ludicrous. We can only hope that South Korea, Japan, Russia, China and Washington can convince North Korea to end the escalating crisis before it becomes an actual standoff.

The present Iraqi threat is much different, however. Saddam Hussein has vast oil wealth with which to purchase or produce uranium and a sea of biological weapons that are unaccounted for. In a report from inspectors before they were booted out of Iraq four years ago was listed: 360 tons of chemical warfare agents; 3,000 tons of precursor chemicals, growth media sufficient to produce approximately 7,000 gallons of anthrax; 300 gallons of food poisoning; and 30,000 empty shells that could conceivably be used for the delivery of any of these nerve agents (more than enough toxins to easily exterminate every man, woman, child, pet and living thing in every large city in America). It came as no surprise that none of these chemicals were listed in Saddam's 12,000 page report to the U.N.

The prospect of another war with Iraq is unsettling, but the thought of being poisoned by anthrax, nuked or gassed by Saddam Hussein or anyone else is far worse. We can choose to sit back and wait until he pushes the button and releases the inevitable or we can neutralize the problem now. It is truly a shame that this has to happen. America hasn't starved Iraqis, or cut off their food supply, or murdered, gassed and tortured thousands of innocent Iraqis, or set up rape camps in Kuwait. But Saddam Hussein has.

When you hear about starving, pitiful, destitute Iraqis and feel anger at the U.S. for its embargoes, consider this. Saddam has literally dozens of presidential palaces in Iraq. Many are richly adorned in gold and are decorated with the finest of everything. In Saddam's riverside Al-Sajoud palace, inspectors found spectacle and opulence. Inside the palace's eight-sided entry hall, inspectors noted each wall inscribed in huge gold letters with a poem praising Saddam. America hasn't hurt Iraq. Saddam Hussein has hurt Iraq and continues to do so every day he remains in power.

At an anti-war protest last fall in Washington, Americans circled the White House and denounced the Bush administration's Iraq policy. Let it be known that while this foolishness was going on, Iraqi-Americans staged a counter-demonstration in support of the Bush administration and for ousting Hussein. Spokesman for the Iraqi-American council Aziz al Taee boldly stated, "I think America is doing just fine ... we (Iraqi-Americans) think every day Saddam stays in power, he kills more of our family and friends."

I wonder how many of those Americans that were denouncing our president that day have ever been to Iraq and seen the results of mustard gas in northern Iraq on Kurdish men, women and children. I wonder how those same Americans would feel if their president had murdered their little children and women and drafted their men at gunpoint to serve in the army.

Do you know why Americans are hated? I can tell you. It is because we are rich, free, strong, open-minded, optimistic and the envy of what every nation hopes to be. We aren't stuck in the past, we don't belittle women, minorities are equals, we don't have a statewide religion or a social group that controls all the money.

In case you didn't know, Americans also work harder than any other group, however the Japanese folks are close behind us in number of hours worked. We don't have time to terrorize others, we want to work and build that American dream. We also want to keep it. Be thankful you live in America and that Americans choose diplomacy before war.
