Gun Lawsuit
Editor, Times-Union:Good write-up on the Gary gun lawsuit the other evening. The writer is quite correct that it will not end the argument one way or the other.
This started about four years ago with more than three dozen of these suits. Most have been dismissed first time in court. A couple have made it through the first court but been overturned on appeal. Several states have stopped the whole process with legislation. But none of that matters to the anti-gunners. They simply will keep taking it back to whatever court they can in the hope of bankrupting a few manufacturers.
The only incorrect part of the article I saw was concerning the filibuster. We now have enough votes to prevent that and the Senate leadership has promised to bring it to the floor for a vote in February or March.
Like many people in this society today, these mayors are simply trying to find someone else to blame for their problems. I wonder, though, these lawsuits must be costing them about as much as the gun manufacturers. How long do you suppose the voters in these towns will put up with this?
For those of you that may think this is a good idea, let me hear all about it when down the road someone gets the bright idea to do this to the automotive industry because of the actions of drunk drivers.

Thanks To Firefighters
Editor, Times-Union:We would like to publicly thank Milford, Syracuse and Leesburg fire departments for saving our home on Thanksgiving Day. All of you men and women are awesome! I also want to thank our friends, neighbors and family for helping us through the aftermath of securing the house and moving our belongings to other places. Also a big thanks to the Red Cross for feeding the crews and making sure we had a place to stay. God has been so amazing through this trial. Although our home will have to be almost totally rebuilt, nothing of sentimental value was damaged. He miraculously provided us with temporary housing at a neighbor's lake house, and we are in need of nothing. We are holding up well and extremely anxious to get home.
Thanks again, everyone!
