Leslie J. Yoder, 77, died at 8:40 a.m. Nov. 6, 2009, in Veteran's Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Howe, to Lawrence J. and Evelyn A. Knight Yoder. On Feb. 7, 1954, in Goshen, he married Doris E. Johnson, who survives.

He lived in Warsaw from 1953 to 2000, then retired to Palmetto, Fla., and had recently returned to Warsaw. His life's vocation was a meat cutter at Robinson's Market, Owen's Supermarket and Woodies Supermarket. Prior to retirement he owned and managed Yoder's Meat Market for 12 years. He was a member of Palmetto (Fla.) First Baptist Church, a former member of First Brethren Church, Warsaw, and a 1950 graduate of Goshen High School.

Also surviving are three sons: Rodney (and spouse Lola) Yoder, Warsaw; Dan (and spouse Starr) Yoder, Ivor, Va.; Doug (and spouse Sandy) Yoder, Crown Point; three brothers: Larry Yoder, Columbia City; Lloyd (and spouse Helen) Yoder, Brandenton, Fla.; Jim (and spouse Anita) Yoder, Elkhart; two sisters, Luella Martin, Indianapolis, and Patsy Timmons, Elkhart; 11 grandchildren: Tracy, Travis, Jeremy, Christopher, Mellissa, Jeff, Amanda, Jayme, Brenna, Erin, Tyler; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Diane Becker, who died June 23, 2007.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Paul Tinkel officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Military Honors will be conducted by the Warsaw American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
