COLUMBIA CITY - Leon V. Paulus, 88, of Columbia City, died at 1:21 p.m. Feb. 14, 2008, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Noble County, to Samuel D. and Lola A. Wilkerson Paulus. On Oct. 2, 1988, in Merriam Church Chapel, he married JoAnn Brandenburg, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters; a son, Samuel (and spouse Sue) Paulus, Pierceton; two stepdaughters, including Glenda Ervin, Claypool; a stepson; a sister; 11 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; a daughter; a son; and his first wife.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, with Eddie Beagles and Sharon Brockhuas officiating.

Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday with an Eagles Twilight service at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
