ELKHART - Leo Glen Schooley, 79, of Elkhart, and formerly of this area, died at 3:15 a.m. March 6, 2007, in his residence.
He was born Oct. 3, 1927, in Elkhart, to Reber and Goldie Sechrist Schooley. On June 26, 1948, in Warsaw, he married Helen Thompson, who survives.
He worked at Kent Co. from 1969 until retirement in 1984; was in sales and service at ABK Vacuum from 1987-93; and later worked at Martins Supermarket. He attended St. John's United Church of Christ and was a member of Village Parkway First Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas, and IAM Union.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Yoder, Elkhart; a son, Lanny Schooley, San Antonio; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a sister, Reva Garife, Mesa, Ariz.; and two brothers, Herschel and Everett Schooley, both of Warsaw. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, Elkhart, with the Rev. Helen Nusbaum officiating. There will be cremation with burial in Rice Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
