Leesburg Man Held In Wawasee Burglary

A Leesburg man is being held on $12,000 bond after being arrested in connection with a burglary at a Lake Wawasee residence.

Kosciusko County Deputy Sheriff Craig Bale arrested Sean Elliot Shumaker, 32, Leesburg at 11:54 a.m. Tuesday.

According to police, an alarm went off at 11802 N. Stroh's Drive, on the east side of Lake Wawasee, and Bale responded.

When Bale arrived he arrested Shumaker, who reportedly was returning to the residence after allegedly breaking into it earlier.

Bale approached Shumaker, and Shumaker allegedly admitted to breaking into the residence, police reports indicate.

Kosciusko County Detective John Hart is investigating whether Shumaker may be involved in other burglaries in the county.

Shumaker was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on charges of burglary of a residence, theft, residential entry and on outstanding warrants for two counts of failure to appear.[[In-content Ad]]
