She was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Kokomo, to Walter and Molly Holler Harper. In 1953 she married Nicholas M. Richer, who died in 1978.
A lifetime Bourbon resident, she graduated from Kokomo High School in 1937, and furthered her education at Indiana University and St. Francis College with a master's degree in reading education. She retired as a special education teacher from Rochester Community School Corp. She was a faithful member of the First United Church of Christ, Retired Teacher's Association and worked as a volunteer at Kosciusko Community Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Stacy Richer, Bourbon; a son, Nathan (and spouse Tamera) Richer, Garland, Texas; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in First United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Linda Sue Hewett officiating.
Calling is at 2 p.m. until the time of services Wednesday at the church.
