Lakeland Community Concert Association recently announced its 2007-08 concert season.

Purdue University Glee Club opens the season Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. All shows are at Rodeheaver Auditorium, Winona Lake.

Founded in 1893, the Purdue Varsity Glee Club has been and continues to be one of Purdue University's proudest and richest traditions. Built upon a reputation of excellence in entertainment, their popularity has sent them across the nation, having performed on national television, at five presidential inaugurations, and at many national and international concert events.

Today, under the direction of nationally recognized conductor Brian Breed, these ambassadors of goodwill for Purdue University continue to entertain audiences throughout the world.

On Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m., the Presidio Brass will perform.

The group performs music as varied as their own personal experiences, ranging in style from Renaissance to contemporary jazz and film scores.

Predominantly active in southern California orchestras, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the San Diego Symphony, their primary focus is to educate children about music through innovate programs.

For the Christmas Pops Concert, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic will perform Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.

The Philharmonic was established in 1953. In its first season, the orchestra performed six sets of concerts, which also were broadcast over the radio.

Today, the orchestra boasts 55 full-time musicians, 20 part-time musicians and adds musicians when needed. Its nine-month season includes four subscription series, including the Grand, Spectrum, Pops and Freimann series.

The first concert of 2008 will be March 1 at 7:30 p.m., with Michel Lauziere.

He is a man of many talents. He is a visual humorist, a fantasy artist, a musician and a creative performer who gains personal satisfaction in capturing the public's affection.

On stage, he is a master in grasping the audience's attention and drawing them into his world of the unusual.

After a 10-year career in a comedy duo, Lauziere launched his solo career in 1988. He soon made his mark on the international stage with musical and special effects.

Hunt Family Fiddlers conclude the 2007-08 season on April 5 at 7:30 p.m.

The Hunt Family Fiddlers are an award-winning family of Irish step dancers, fiddlers and singers that amaze crowds everywhere.

This family of nine performs Celtic, bluegrass, inspirational and popular tunes.
