He was born Feb. 5, 1940, in Warsaw to John Perry and Lula Spradlin Walls. On May 1, 1965, in Germany, he married Betal (Susie) Krezicha, who survives.
He attended Pierceton High School. He was a 22-year career Army officer, serving two tours in Vietnam. After retiring from service, he returned to Warsaw and worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He moved to Paradise, Calif., and worked for the U.S. Postal Service there for 15 years, retiring due to ill health.
He and his wife traveled extensively. He had a great interest in photography, flowers, genealogy and collecting service medals. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Also surviving are a son, Dirk (and friend Dorothea) Walls; daughter, Michele (and spouse Dr. Gabriel) Pereira; two granddaughters; a brother, Douglas (and spouse Nancy) Walls, Pierceton; sisters, Irene (and spouse Norman) Clay, Warsaw; Alice (and spouse Luke) Lockwood, Pierceton; sister-in-law Becky Walls, Pierceton; and step-father John King, Port Charlotte, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Steven and Lee Walls.
Services were held Saturday in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Paradise, with a military service.
