NAPPANEE - LaVern Hollar, 91, of 9018 N. CR 1000W, Etna Green, died at 5:58 p.m. Jan. 18, 2011, in his residence.

He was born Dec. 3, 1919, on the family farm, to Martin and Mary Ellen "Ella" Koffel Hollar. On Oct. 16, 1942, in Marshall County, he married Daisy Mae Stine, who survives.

He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran, serving in Germany during the European Theatre and France. He retired from Mutschlers Brother's Kitchen and had worked in other area factories.

Also surviving are two sons, Gary (and spouse Catherine) Hollar, Bloomington, and Paul (and spouse Beth) Hollar, Atwood; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, with Pastor Robert Beyler officiating. Burial will be in Stony Point Cemetery with military graveside services by members of Nappanee American Legion.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
