Larry L. Summy, 66, of 4860 N. CR 175E, Leesburg, died from complications of cancer at 9:10 p.m. Aug. 12, 2008, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Warsaw, to Kenneth and Marie Williamson Summy. On July 16, 1969, in Leesburg, he married Mary Ellen Wildman, who survives.

He was native to Bourbon until moving to Leesburg. He was a truck driver for Fairmont Homes and then Maple Leaf Farms, retiring in 2008. He was a member of American Legion Post 424, Bourbon, and a U.S. Army and Army Reserve veteran. He was an award-winning professional shuffleboard player, an avid I.U. fan and supporter of his grandchildren's activities.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sara (and spouse Terry) Martin, Warsaw, and Rachelle (and spouse Scott) Edwards, Apex, N.C.; two sons, Jim (and spouse Mindy) Coon, Columbia City, and Michael (and spouse Christine) Coon, Warsaw; a sister, Patty (and spouse Everett) Beagle, Bourbon; 11 grandchildren: Amanda (and spouse Chris) Martin, Tara Martin (and Justin Miller), Tarissa, Sterling and Victoria Martin, Rachel and Mari Edwards and Alan, Corinne, Olivia and Ellis Coon; two great-grandchildren, Dallas and Danika Miller; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with the Rev. Ron Horgan and Rita Price officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Leesburg Cemetery.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
