MILFORD – Larry L. Dennis, 67, of Syracuse, died Nov. 6, 2012, in his residence.
He was born Feb. 4, 1945, in Jacksonville, Ill., to Julius and Marie Surrat Dennis. On Feb. 4, 1966, he married Patricia Cooper, who survives.
He graduated high school in Jacksonville before entering the U.S. Marine Corp, where he honorably served his country during Vietnam. He was a retired diesel mechanic and a former member of the Auxiliary Coast Guard, Islamorada, Fla. He enjoyed traveling to Key Largo, Fla., in the winters, fishing and helping people, most recently donating to the Hurricane Sandy relief fund.
Also surviving are a son, Larry Dennis Jr., Syracuse;  two grandchildren, Amanda Senzel and Stephany Bailey; four brothers, Everett (and spouse Darlene) Dennis and Julius Clinton (and spouse Sherry) Dennis  and Robert (and spouse Susan) Dennis, all of Illinois, and Eugene Dennis, Iowa; a sister, Emma Maxine, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ellen Bailey;  and a sister, Mary.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, officiated by the Rev. Stan Owen and with military honors.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
