He was born May 1, 1948, in Richmond, to Harry M. and Lena F. Falcone Harkleroad. On Aug. 16, 1975, in Richmond he married Linda K. Henry, who survives.
He graduated in 1966 from Richmond High School and attended Indiana University East in Richmond. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and was a Purple Heart recipient. He moved to the Syracuse area at the time of his marriage in 1975. He retired in 2011 as a salesman for Quality Cabinets in Dallas, Texas, after more than 20 years of service, and was formerly employed at Kemper Cabinets in Richmond. He was a member of the Syracuse V.F.W. Post 1342 and American Legion Post 223 both in Syracuse.
Also surviving are a son, Ryan (and spouse Alexandra) Harkleroad, Indianapolis; three sisters: Darlene Caves, Centerville; Becky (and spouse Jay) Hartman, Richmond; and Angela (and spouse Darren) Touseull, Fishers; a brother, Ken (and spouse Pat) Jordan, Richmond; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, David Harkleroad.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial is in Syracuse Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
