NAPPANEE – LaMar J. Miller, 94, of Nappanee, died of natural causes July 3, 2012, in his residence.

He was born Jan. 5, 1918, in North Liberty, to Jesse and Myrtle Robinson Miller. On May 28, 1946, in Goshen, he married Evelyn L. Kronk, who died Nov. 2, 1984.

A lifetime area resident, he was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran, serving in England. He worked at NIBCO for 20 years, Mutschler Brothers, Nappanee, and  retired in 2001 from VITCO, Nappanee, where he worked in security. He was a member of Nappanee Brethren in Christ Church and Nappanee American Legion.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen and Cathy Miller,  both of Elkhart; a son, Gary (and spouse Connie)  Schneck, West Lafayette; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nappanee Brethren in Christ Church with The Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Burial will be in South Union Cemetery with military graveside services by members of Nappanee American Legion.

Calling is from 5 ot 8 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
