Lakeland Christian Names Top Students

Lakeland Christian Academy announced John Wildman as its 2005 valedictorian.

David Singleton and Jonathan Steele are co-salutatorian.

Lakeland Christian also awards a Timothian award to the graduating senior who best exemplifies the spiritual exhortation found in the book of Timothy, 4:12 - "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." The award this year was given to Andrew Hollis and Abbey Herendeen.

Wildman is graduating with a grade point average of 98.15 on a 100-point scale. Wildman is the son of Ron and Sharon, Warsaw. He has been a member of student senate, executive student senate and served as class treasurer. He is a member of National Honor Society, and served as its treasurer. He plans to attend Cedarville University in the fall to major in biology, where he received the presidential and leadership scholarships.

Singleton is the son of Paul and Giner, Warsaw. He is graduating with a 97.27 GPA. He was a member of NHS. He plans to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University in the fall. He is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and was awarded a National Merit scholarship from R.R. Donnelley & Sons.

Steele is the son of Philip and Julie, Warsaw. He graduates with a 97.36 GPA. He also was a member of NHS, varsity basketball team, worship team and was on the homecoming court his freshman year. He plans to attend Indiana Wesleyan to study music, where he received an academic scholarship.

Hollis is the son of David and Jennifer, Mentone. A NHS member, he will attend Indiana University to major in small business.

Herendeen is the daughter of Dave and Debbie, Larwill. She has been in the school play for two years and served as the NHS secretary. She will attend Indiana Wesleyan and major in English and psychology. [[In-content Ad]]
