Lakeland Christian Academy Hosts Community Food Drive

Lakeland Christian Academy will hold its Second Annual Community-wide Food Drive next week.

The food drive will benefit Combined Community Services. With the public's help, LCA hopes to "stock the shelves" at CCS.[[In-content Ad]]Wednesday, all LCA students will go out and leave grocery bags on door steps. Attached to the bag will be a flier with information about the food drive.

The students will return the next day, Sept. 24, between 1 and 3 p.m. to collect the bags filled with non-perishable food items. If residents will not be home, they may leave the bags outside their front door. If a person is missed, call 574-267-7265 and someone will come out for the donation.

After all the food is collected, it will be delivered to CCS Thursday afternoon.

Suggested non-perishable food items include peanut butter, jelly, cereal, soups, canned meat, macaroni and cheese, pancake mix, syrup, granola bars, canned vegetables and fruit, spaghetti sauce, all pastas, Spaghetti O's and other canned dinners. Diapers, size 4 and larger, also may be donated.

The neighborhoods LCA will be visiting next week on the food drive include Grace Village, Lampost, Stonehenge, Lexington, Heritage Lake, The Dells, River Lawn, Valley Springs, Blackberry Trace, Summerfield, The Meadows, Brookshire, Ferguson Road, Pheasant Ridge, Granite Ridge, Patterson Place, Deeds Creek Manor, Deeds Creek, Stone Camp, town of Winona Lake, Fairlane, Country Club Drive, Autumn Ridge, Cherry Creek, Southtown, Barrington, Old Farm, Fox Run, The Pines, North Winds, Lake Forest, Timber Ridge, Hunters Ridge, Hickory Estates, Shadow Lakes and Harrison Landing.
