By Staff Report-

The most popular part of the Northern Indiana Lakes Festival has been the ski show put on by the Lake City Skiers.
According to Dr. Nate Bosch, the director of Kosciusko Lakes and Streams, “During the ski show, everyone’s eyes are glued to the lake to see what stunts the Lake City Skiers will do next.”
Kosciusko Lakes and Streams, Grace College’s center for water-related applied research and community education, is now planning the 2011 Northern Indiana Lakes Festival to take place at Center Lake Park in Warsaw on June 25.  Bosch said, “We are excited and grateful to have the Lake City Skiers back again this year.
It is a great way to celebrate one of the things we enjoy the most about our local lakes – the recreational opportunities that they provide.”  The show will happen in the middle of the festival, at 1 p.m..
According to Tracey Patrick, spokesperson for the Lake City Skiers, this year’s theme is “The Best Little Ski Show in Town.” Acts included in the show require lots of practice, experience, hard work and dedication to accomplish. Spectators will see high speed bare footing acts, all girl slalom ballet line, jumping tricks, swivel skiing, pyramids, and specialized acts like around the boat, wakeboarding and the unique air chair act.
The Lake City Skiers will also perform a few dance routines and will include some comedy both on and off the water. For more information on our schedule and any questions please check out our website at www.lakecityskiers.org or call Randy and Tracey Patrick at 574-267-3718.
The Northern Indiana Lakes Festival takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 25 and is being held at Center Lake Park in Warsaw.  This free event makes a splash in local awareness and appreciation for our lakes through education, fun, experience, and celebration.
Other highlights of the lakes festival include the Water Waddle (a one mile youth fun run), canoeing and kayaking, Indiana Department of Natural Resources electrofishing demonstration, a boat show, musical performances, exhibits and booths featuring local businesses and nonprofits, and demonstrations and hands-on activities for children.
Guests can purchase food from local vendors and register to win great door prizes.  Aluminum water bottles will be given away as well.
For more information call 574-372- 5100 x6446 or visit www.lakesfestival.org
The event is made possible by several local sponsors, including Biomet, K21 Health Foundation, Indiana-American Water, Lake City Radio, and Zimmer as top-level sponsors.[[In-content Ad]]
