Lake City Skiers Invite Public To Free Shows Before Heading To Nationals

July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.

By Staff Report-

Lake City Skiers are preparing to go to national competition, but before they do, they are inviting the public to come out to see their show.
The first show is 6 p.m. Sunday on Hidden Lake, Ind. 15, behind Smith Tire, Warsaw. The second show is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on the lake. All shows are free to the public.
Warsaw’s own show ski team will perform its rendition of “Footloose,” loosely based on the movie and adapted to water skiing and its “adverse” effect on the community.
The ski team got off to a late start this year. High water caused the canceling of several shows and a June tournament.
Lake City Skiers depend on sponsors and the support of the people who watch the shows for the financial needs of the club.
Cancelled shows and a cancelled tournament take a huge bite out of this not-for-profit organization’s budget. The team did continue land practice during this time, even though it couldn’t get on the water.
The 2013 Division II National Tournament will be in Tomahawk, Wis., Aug. 3-4.
A big crowd at Sunday’s and Tuesday’s show would give the team a “Booster Club” send off to nationals, according to team members.[[In-content Ad]]
