Lady Trojans Lead Roundup With Big Win Over Knox

Kylie Mason had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead Triton to a 54-22 drubbing of Knox in the Northern State Conference opener for both teams.
Lauren Hostrawser and Jaela Meister had eight points each and Krystal Sellers added seven to an effort that saw 11 Lady Trojans enter the game and nine players scoring.
Triton led after the first quarter 20-2 and outscored Kox in all four periods.
Triton next travels to Akron to take on Tippecanoe Valley at 7:45 p,m, Wednesday.

Brianna Cumberland had 21 points, and Aly Reiff added 20 more in Whitko’s 57-19 romp over North Miami in the Three Rivers Conference opener for both teams Saturday night.
Hanna Yohe scored eight for the Lady Wildcats. Haley Yohe and Reghan Craig completed the Whitko scoring with six and two points, respectively.
Whitko takes a 4-3 overall record into its game at 7:45 p.m. Friday at Manchester.

Drew Thompson scored six points for the Lady Squires, with Cierra Carter adding four. Bailey Sewell had three points, and Tiffany Johnson, Celina Carter and Ellie Milam had two points each to round our the Manchester scoring.

Anne Secrest scored 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in Tippecanoe Valley’s 60-48 win over Wabash in the Three Rivers Conference opener for both teams.
Meredith Brouyette scored 10 points for the Lady Vikings. Caylie Teel had eight, Taylor Trippiedi six, Brynda Krueger five and Karis Tucker three for Tippecanoe Valley.
Now 5-1 overall, the Lady Vikings will host Triton at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Saturday in Winona Lake
Hannah Delp had 14 points and three rebounds in Lakeland Christian Academy’s 39-18 loss to the Hamilton Lady Marines.
Rachel Sand had two points and three rebounds for the Lady Cougars, with Carissa Urschalitz adding two points and four rebounds. Brady Goss pulled down a team-high five rebounds in the contest.
LCA returns to action at 12:30 p.m. Saturday when South Bend Trinity visits the Lady Cougars.

Saturday in Winona Lake
Jon Harmon scored 12 points, and Connor Blum tallied 11 in Lakeland Christian Academy’s 69-33 home loss to Hamilton.
The game was tied at eight after the first quarter, but LCA was outscored 47-13 in the second and third periods, securing the win for Hamilton. The visiting Marines had 10 three-point field goals made.
Josh McDaniel and Kyle Shuler scored four points each and Elijah Raymond had two for the Cougars. LCA falls to 0-3 on the year, and hosts Benton Homeschool at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitko dropped a 48-43 decision to Bellmont Saturday night.
Nate Walpole scored 14 points, with River West adding 11 for the Wildcats. Tanner Gaff gathered nine rebounds and Cole Kessie six boards for Whitko.
The Wildcats, now 0-2,  begin a stretch of three games in five days when Central Noble visits South Whitley at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Whitko’s home opener.

Saturday in LaPorte
Wawasee’s Tristin Ponsler went 5-0 in the LaPorte Duals wrestling tournament on Saturday.
As a team, the Warriors finished 1-4 in duals competition, defeating Hammond while dropping matches to LaPorte, Thornton, Merrillville and Lafayette Jefferson.
The Warriors will next travel to Merrillville to compete in the Tom Cameron Invitational beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern time.

Saturday in Valpariaiso
Warsaw’s wrestlers finished 4-1 at the Valpariaso Invitational Saturday. The Tigers claimed wins over Noblesville 43-31, Kankakee Valley 42-30, South Bend Adams 54-21, and Gary Westside 63-3, while absorbing a 42-33 loss from Portage.
The Tigers’ Kyle Hatch (120 pounds), Kameron Hile (126), Rory Nolin (195) and Andrew Brock (220) all posted 5-0 records in the tournament. Jeremy Lee (132) and Anthony Penn (Hwt.) went 4-1 for the day.
The team returns to Northern Lakes Conference competition when they host Plymouth at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Saturday in Wabash
Manchester lost all four dual matches in Saturdays’s Wabash County Invitational wrestling tournament. The Squires fell to tournament champion Bremen 54-16, county champion Wabash 45-27, Northfield 43-42, and Southwood 42-40.
The Squires’ Clayton Moore (138 pounds) and Quinton Moore (152) claimed individual titles with perfect 4-0 marks.
