Lady Spartan Soccer Coach Steps Down

Stout, who led the Black and Gold for eight seasons, registered a 56-82-11 record. He guided the program to three straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament appearances (2012-14) and back-to-back winning campaigns in 2012 and 2013, highlighted by 12 victories in 2013 which was the Spartans’ most since 2005. As a member of the Exercise Science/Athletic Training faculty, he was also part of a 100 percent licensure and placement rate during his tenure.
“I’ve been tremendously fortunate to be involved with many wonderful moments for the women’s soccer program (at MU),” he said. “The best part of it, overall, though has been the relationships with the student-athletes. Being around the current and past players and seeing their success on and off the pitch while developing friendships with various colleagues and staff in many different areas of campus has been very rewarding.”
“(Coach Stout) played an integral role to the success of Manchester University athletics on and off the playing field,” Espeset said. “His leadership as a coach and faculty member made him an important part of the Spartan community. We wish him the best in his new venture.”
