Citing its long-term plans, Kosciusko Community YMCA CEO Chad Zaucha confirmed Thursday that the YMCA is selling the racquet club, 3919 N. Ind. 15.

The sale is scheduled to close Thursday.

The new facility will be named Warsaw Tennis and Fitness Club with owner Gopi Ganta and club manager Tracey Thompson.

Zaucha said the new facility will keep the current staff in place.

“With our long-term plans to relocate on U.S. 30 and Mariner Drive, the racquet club itself is not self supporting and it’s not really the YMCA’s niche,” said Zaucha.

Zaucha said the YMCA is recommitting to its stated goals of youth development, healthy living and social development.

Zaucha said the Warsaw Tennis and Fitness Club will be a private membership, though he hopes in the future that they’ll be able to set up a partnership for YMCA members.
