Kosciusko REMC Warns of Scam

KREMC members have reported a gentleman in an unmarked white pick-up truck going door to door in the North Webster area. He claims to be a representative of their electric provider and asks members for their account information in exchange for 25 LED light bulbs. KREMC said people should not give him their information.
The release states, “KREMC will never ask for your information. If you are ever contacted by KREMC, the person speaking to you will have your account number on hand and will not request any personal information from you. KREMC will not request your Social Security number or your KREMC account number during an unsolicited call or visit.”
KREMC members are encouraged to call the co-op at 574-267-6331 or 800-790-7362 if they are suspicious about calls received regarding their KREMC accounts.
