On Oct. 29, there will be the Freaky 5K Family Fun Run/Walk at K21 Health Pavilion, Warsaw. The race will be from the Greenway to Pike Lake and back around behind Kosciusko Community Hospital. There will be awards for all age groups and a CCF T-shirt for all participants.
The Cancer Care Fund is made up of volunteers who raise money for the specific purpose of giving back to our community. The CCF benefits patients and families as they struggle financially during their cancer diagnosis battle and 100 percent of all net money raised goes to the fund and is administered by the K21 Health Foundation at no charge.
Money for food, rent, mortgage, gas, prescriptions, hotels and travel is paid directly to the patient or family through an advocate. In 2015, over $130,000 was paid out to 99 clients.
A new website, www.cancercarefundkc.org has been created for the Cancer Care Fund. The site provides information about the CCF; lists all of the events with links to registration and tickets; provides information on how to access the fund; has a page for volunteer registration and a complete contact page.
