By Staff Report-
Classes will run through October 28.
There will be swim lessons and gymnastics for the development of youth.
Classes that promote the healthy living will include group exercise classes at both the Smith Street and North Webster branches, classes for older adults and water aerobics in both the warm water and lap pools.
The majority of group exercise and water aerobics classes are now included with a YMCA membership.
Registration for these classes starts August 6 for YMCA members and August 13 for everyone and can take place at the North Webster or the Smith Street branch or online at www.kcymca.org
The YMCA will be offering a wedding dance class to help prepare participants for any event where dancing is involved.
A mix of classic and modern line, pop, country and cultural dances will keep people active as they acquire dancing skills.
A new Zumba®Gold class is designed for the active older adult, the true beginner, people who may be limited physically or who are not used to exercising.
Other returning classes include: Interval Training, Intro to Fitness, Boot Camp, Step Challenge, Body Sculpt, Fantastic Abs, Circuit Intervals, Family Cardio Challenge, Turbo Kick®, Body Sculpt, Zumba, Yoga, and Fit Ball.
In addition to the regular cycling classes offered in the morning and evening, the YMCA will be adding an Adult Basic Cycling Class to help adults gain the confidence needed to ride safely and legally in traffic.
Offered by the League of American Bicyclists, participants will learn bicycle safety check, fixing a flat, bike skills and crash avoidance techniques.[[In-content Ad]]
