Charles and Alice Koontz, 1309 Wooster Road, Winona Lake, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception given by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Highway, Winona Lake.

Charles Koontz and Alice Snider were married in Pennsylvania April 13, 1957, with Herman Koontz and R. Wayne Snider officiating.

Charles retired as manager of Christian Light Bookstore, Nappanee. He previously managed the Herald Bookstore and now is employed part-time by Ace Hardware. Alice is retired from Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, where she served as secretary, and is employed part-time by Kosciusko County Right to Life.

The couple have three children: Dave (and Linda) and Steve (and Christine), both of Winona Lake, and Doug, Warsaw; and five grandchildren.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the reception. The couple requests no gifts.[[In-content Ad]]

What I haven’t heard mentioned are the eleven towers scattered across it - eleven towers that you have to till, plant, and harvest around. Heaven forbid you hit one. Planes that spray my fields can’t hit the full area because of these obstacles. I’ve got four irrigation units running to irrigate the best I can, where normally two would suffice.
