On Sunday, May 19th around noon, my husband and I were grocery shopping at the Owens on Center Street.  Being as I am disabled from arthritis, I have my own handicapped scooter I use to do my shopping.  As we were going throughout the store, it kept quitting on me and finally died altogether just as I finished my shopping.  I was furious and began to cry, as we had just gotten it out of the shop a few days earlier, costing us over $600 to repair.
We hadn’t made it to the checkout yet, so my husband went to get me one of their motorized carts, so I could get out to our car and he would push ours out to our trailer, load it up, and then go back in and pay for our groceries.  As I was sitting in the aisle waiting for him to come back, this couple came by and stopped and asked me if they could get something off of the shelves for me.  I said “No, thank you, I’m waiting for my husband”,  and then proceeded to tell them what was going on and what our plan of action was.  They insisted on helping us, doing whatever we needed them to do.  When Tom, (my husband) came back with the cart, he found me talking to them thinking they were friends of mine.  They offered to follow us out, but I said we would be okay.  The woman proceeded to say that they were going to buy our groceries for us, again…me saying “No, thank you, that’s not necessary.”  We did leave our grocery cart with them to watch until Tom got back in the store.
Once I was back in the car and the scooter loaded, Tom went back inside.  He soon came back with our groceries and asked me who those people were, as they had been so nice to us.  I said they were “angels” as I had never met them before and we didn’t get their names.  He then told me they had bought our groceries for us while he was outside loading the scooter.  I couldn’t believe it!  The tears really began to fall then, not just out of frustration from my scooter but being overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of these people.
So, this letter is to thank those wonderful people for their kindness and generosity.  We’re so sorry we didn’t get your names as we would like to pay you back.  I hope someday, someone does something just as nice for you, as you did for us.  You are both truly “angels”.  God bless you both and we will be sure to “pay it forward”.  There truly are wonderful people in the town of Warsaw.

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.
