NORTH MANCHESTER - Kindle Allen, 94, of North Fort Myers, Fla., died at 5:25 a.m. Jan. 22, 2010, in The Woodlands Assisted Living Facility, Cape Coral, Fla.

He was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Magoffin County, Ky., to Hatcher and Sina Whitaker Allen. On Sept. 6, 1934, he married Cynthia J. Hale, who died Dec. 14, 1994.

He was a farmer for many years, drove truck for the Indiana State Highway Dept. for nine years and retired from Controls Co. after 20 years. He was a member of North Manchester United Methodist Church and attended services at Woodland Assisted Living Facility. He volunteered in many capacities.

Surviving are three sons: Luther (and spouse Janet) Allen, North Webster; Marvin (and spouse Nevonna) Allen, North Manchester; and Larry Allen, Scottsdale, Ariz.; three daughters: Aileen Bumgardner, North Fort Myers, Fla.; Frieda (and spouse Bob) Kyser, Cape Coral, Fla.; and Janet (and spouse Don) Wagner, Melbourne, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two sisters, a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
