WINONA LAKE – Kids Market Inc., a non-profit organization with 501c3 status, will hold its semi-annual event Saturday at Rodeheaver Auditorium in Winona Lake.
The March sale info is as follows:  Drop-off gently used items Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at Rodeheaver Auditorium.
The volunteer pre-sale is Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Consignor pre-sale is Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
The public sale is Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The half-off sale is Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Pick up unsold items Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m.
Kids Market Inc. exists to help the women and children of Kosciusko County by holding two consignment sales each year – one in March and another in September, according to Allison McSherry, Kids Market marketing coordinator.
Families bring their gently-used maternity and children’s items, and volunteers organize the items and hold a consignment sale.
The sale begins  Thursday with set up and collecting items and concludes Sunday with the pick up of unsold or donated items.
“It’s a busy weekend, but it’s so worth it. The organization is humbled by how many people are touched by this little sale,” McSherry said. “Every year stories are shared about how Kids Market has impacted many lives.”
Kids Market’s favorite time comes after the sale when the families the organization has adopted come and get clothing for free, McSherry said.
Organizations come to collect their boxes of donated items when stories are shared about how this sale has helped the women and children that live in the community and when the organization meets with local non-profits to make financial donations to their organizations.
Kids Market has found organizations locally that align perfectly with their mission, and the organization is thankful for the work these people are doing to impact the lives of families in Kosciusko County, McSherry said.
The average number of items sold in the spring sales is 20,900 with 332 sellers. After the bills are paid and budgeted for the next sale, the money left over is given away.
In 2011 Kids Market donated more than $25,000 to non-profits in Kosciusko County.
After the September 2012 sale Kids Market donated $13,000 to the following charities: Fellowship Mission Homeless Shelter, Combined Community Services Project Independence, Heartline and Beds and Britches Etc., Baker Youth Club, Beaman Home, Lakeland Youth Center, North Webster Community Center, Teen Parents Succeeding, and six area food pantries.
Since the first sale in fall 2001, Kids Market has donated more than $110,000 to local organizations.
The following booths will be present at this sale: Bubblegum Crochet, Thirty-One gifts, Shaklee, Music for Life, Lake City Music Together, Cute as a Button Boutique, Plume Crazy, Simply Folded Roses, Aspire Dance Academy.
The deadline for becoming a consignor for the March sale is Wednesday.
