Kenneth V. “Kenny” Gragg, 102, Warsaw, peacefully went to be with the Lord at 10:40 a.m. Sept. 8, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 26, 1911, in Etna Green, to George and Hettie Williamson Gragg. On May 20, 1933, in Etna Green, he married Bonnie Smith, who survives.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County. and a 1931 graduate of Etna Green High School.
He co-owned Martin and Gragg Equipment Company in Bremen for nine years; Gragg Equipment Company, Nappanee, for two years; and Gragg Equipment Company (now Bobcat of Warsaw), Warsaw, for 53 years. All three were International Harvester dealerships. Until age 99, he continued to sweep the floors, empty the wastebaskets, etc. at Bobcat of Warsaw. He was always service-oriented in his business dealings as well as honest.
He was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Warsaw, for over 50 years. He lived his faith daily. He was raised into the Warsaw Masonic Lodge No. 73, F. & A. M. on Dec. 17, 1945. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Fort Wayne.
He enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. For 20 years, he and Bonnie wintered in Fort Meyers and then Arcadia, Fla. Although stern by nature, he was a very humble and gracious man. He was very proud of his family, and his sweet smile and disposition will be greatly missed.
Also surviving are a son, Don (and spouse Diana) Gragg, Sturgis, Mich.; a daughter, Joann (and spouse Merl) Heckaman, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Jay (and spouse Sharon) Heckaman; Kay (and spouse Robert) Ruggier; Eric (and spouse Nicole) Heckaman; Tim (and spouse Noel) Heckaman, all of Warsaw; Tona Molebash, Bremen; a granddaughter-in-law, Julie Heckaman, Claypool; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and four step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Brian Heckaman, who died July 12, 1998; and a great-granddaughter, Josie Heckaman, who died March 20, 2010.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Dave Hummel, Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A Masonic memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday following visitation.
